We have a limited number of pasture-raised turkeys from nkidsfarm in Dexter, and you can choose from small (15–19 lbs) or large (20–25 lbs).

Turkeys are $7.50/lb, fresh—not frozen—and available for pickup at Dancer Creek Farm, Gateway Farm, or Washtenaw Food Hub.

We're joining Zingerman's Roadhouse and Detroit City Distillery for Pork & Bourbon on Tuesday, October 20th. Expect a multi-course dinner of smoky, tender pork, with Detroit City wh***ey paired to each course and a surprise exclusive tasting. We'll be there to talk about how we raise and source our pork.

Big news for local farmers:

Damian's Craft Meats is moving forward as Washtenaw County's first new USDA-inspected processing facility in more than a decade, set to open in Manchester in spring 2027. It's a multi-species plant — beef, hogs, sheep, and goats — with a boutique retail shop attached, built to solve a real problem: small and mid-sized farms have had to drive hours just to get animals processed. More local processing capacity is good news for the farmers we all rely on, including the ones we work with. We'll be keeping an eye on this one.

A few storage basics that make a real difference: ground meat keeps well in the freezer for about 4 months, steaks and chops for 6–12, and roasts even longer when they're wrapped tight. The safest way to thaw anything is in the fridge — give it a day or two depending on size. In a hurry? A sealed bag in cold water works too.
