Who’d have thought north Louisiana ground would get frozen hard enough to need a pick just to pull carrots?

Kids bundled up, frozen dirt, still harvesting from the garden—and all of it headed for a beef roast. That’s the good stuff right there. Hard work, patience, and seeing food go from ground to table. Those lessons stick way longer than the cold fingers ever will.

Tiffany’s been wanting a donkey to help protect the calves that’ll be hitting the ground soon, and we found her one. He’s wild as a deer right now, but with patience and time we’ll earn his trust. Grateful for another piece of the farm coming together—and he’s one cute little fella.
