You don’t always need a full cutting to start a new plant 🌿A few things I’d keep in mind:
💧 Change the water every few days so it stays fresh
🌱 Use a clean jar and avoid letting leaves sit underwater if they might rot
☀️ Keep them in bright, indirect light, not hot direct sun
🪴 Move to soil once roots are strong enough, not just when you see one tiny root
⏳ Be patient, some plants root quickly and others take several weeks
I like water propagation because you can actually see what’s happening below the surface.

I love houseplants, but pets definitely changed how I choose them 🐾 A few safety habits I’ve learned:

🌿 I always check if a plant is pet-safe before bringing it home.
🚫 Lilies are one I don’t risk at all with cats.
🪴 Pothos, philodendron, aloe, and snake plants may look harmless, but I keep them away from curious nibblers.
✅ Spider plants, Boston ferns, prayer plants, and African violets feel like much easier choices in a pet home.

A pretty plant is not worth the worry when pets are part of the family 🌱
