Michiana Cork and Fork was founded to support the hard working, talented and creative local food movement in northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan. Cork, for the wonderful wineries, breweries and distilleries in our area and Fork, for all of the restaurants, grocery stores, farms and specialty markets offering and using local ingredients. Too many people don't realize our area has SO much mor

e to offer than our hum drum, national chains and we hope by visiting our page, we can share this information and give people ideas of new places to try. We do our best to share all local food and drink events around town, so you can get involved in the local community and support these great businesses. We also used to host a dinner once a month, called Food and Friends, where like minded people would come together, enjoy each other's company and promote the dishes our great local restaurants are creating. We also try and get out a couple of times a month to try new places so be on the lookout for our Event posts and you can join us too! Wow, what an amazing experience tonight at Nova's in downtown Goshen. We were thrilled to learn our friends back from the old Tapastrie days in downtown South Bend, Chef Tony Nafrady and his partner, Danielle are running this new hot spot!

There were so many great dishes to choose from, we had to try as many as we could and even hit them at Happy Hour, 4 to 5pm for half priced glasses of wine and $2 oysters!

Definitely put them on your list to try soon, you won't be disappointed. Thank you so much for the most delicious dinner we've had in a while!

Another new stop for us tonight...Afuri Ramen in downtown Elkhart. We were able to try and bunch of apps and dishes and what a delicious addition for Elkhart! It was steady busy all evening, which was great to see. Thank you for taking care of our group!

Good morning, foodies. A lot has changed on this little page in the past 13 years, we've seen a lot of restaurants and businesses come and go and we've seen social media change tremendously in that time. When we started, there really wasn't anyone else doing what we did - promoting local restaurants so they could get some love from the community and hopefully get new people in the doors. Now, there's Snapchat and TikTok and Instagram and so many other platforms, spaces we've chosen to avoid but others have picked up the torch and carried it so the younger generation could be engaged with great restaurants and food too.

No, we're not going anywhere but we must admit the truth - due to some health struggles (nothing serious) this year, it may be tough to continue going out as much as we used to and sharing our experiences. We're so incredibly disappointed time hasn't been kind in this way but we are blessed in so many others. It can be hard to remember when you're going through tough times, to count your blessings but we're sure doing our best. We've met amazing people, shared amazing meals with them and been able to share it all here with you. We will still go out from time to time, we hope and if we do, we will pop on here but in 2026, our posts will probably be very limited.

Thank you so much for following our page, for your support, your encouragement and most of all, for giving a small local restaurant, bar, winery, brewery, farm or grocery store a chance. Please, please continue that support and this post is as much for them as us. They are still going through tough times too and we still continue to see far too many closing. But, we see new ones popping up to take their place and to them, we wish you the very best and much success. It's not easy to put your life on the line, your livelihood, your financial security, your time away from your family to open your doors to strangers and hope to give them a memorable and delicious experience. But people keep on going every day. We see you and hope we've been able to help you in some small way over the years.

So drop into the page and say hi, feel free to share your experiences dining out and we will do the same. Life can be tough and cruel but can also be beautiful and amazing too. We hope 2026 gives you more of the latter than the former. Thank you!

Snowy night enjoying some tasty dishes, like a giant pulled chicken salad, piping hot cornbread and chicken tenders and we brought a mixed berry bread pudding home with us! A nice treat on a cold December evening...

Just celebrated Small Business Saturday at Curve Cafe in Mishawaka for breakfast but it's getting nasty out there, foodies! Hope you all sta6 safe in this storm.
