The Sonney family has grown, sold, and traded sweet corn in Greene Township since 1936. It all started on a farm owned by Don & Minerva (Sally) Sonney, where Grandma Sonney canned over 4,000 jars each summer of fruits and vegetables for her nine kids (8 boys and 1 girl). The produce from the Sonney family garden fed the family of 11 throughout the winter and several community members. The Sonney fruit cellar had a dirt floor, and when Grandma Sonney was not canning, or mending clothing for the large family, she was found spending time in her rose garden. With a history of producing some of the best corn in NW Pennsylvania, we pride ourselves on selling the freshest home grown, organic, pesticide free sweet corn!
