The farm got some new plants in the ground today. 3 more varieties of pawpaw which puts us at 5 now. Then 2 more types of persimmon so now we have 3. Then 3 more varieties of female kiwi vine so that makes 4 now. 3 more varieties of mulberry so now we have 6. All of these should be cross pollinators for each other to make better produce. I'm attaching some pictures of these 3 fruits since a lot of people have never heard of them. We are working hard towards the future over here. Many of these things I'm planting now take YEARS before they will produce fruit. The persimmon take minimum 7 years. The kiwi and mulberry take minimum 4 years. . Lol. Still dreaming of my future green house and farm stand. I want to sell hard to find produce and chicks, soaps, beard balm, laundry soap, tallow beauty products, jellies and jams, pickled foods, eggs, tinctures and salves. I've got some BIG dreams for my retirement gig. Lol. But this is what my soul LOVES. Being outside with the sun on my back and my bare feet on the earth just makes me feel so content inside. There is something about working hard physically to make something to sell that just feels like such honest, soul satisfying work. I know a lot of people have nothing but negative to say about NY state. And I admit there are a lot of things here I disagree with to my core. But this little chunk of country is really some of the most beautiful ground I've ever seen. And I've lived a lot of places in my life. None of them hold a candle to home. I'm proud to live here. I love our community and the people in it.
