As we get ready for the lemonade season kickoff at the Ceili at the Roundhouse Celtic Festival Friiday and Saturday, we wanted to share a bit of history of Lolli and Pops Squeeze Stop. For your reading pleasure! 🥰
The Story of Lolli and Pops Squeeze Stop began as a simple family venture built on hard work, creativity, and a love for sharing sweet treats with the community.
In 2015, the journey started at the Evanston Wyoming Farmers Market under the name of Family Fudge. With nothing more than a cooler, a folding table, and a couple of chairs, we began offering homemade fudge in as many as 20 different flavors. It was a humble setup, but it gave us the opportunity to connect with customers, experiment with flavors, and learn what people loved.
As the market grew and our enthusiasm grew with it, we expanded by adding a crowd favorite to the menu– fresh squeezed lemonade. At the same time, a kettle corn machine was added and the smell of fresh kettle corn popping quickly became another reason customers stopped by our stand. With the help of a good friend, we built a set of handmade counters which, along with the kettle corn machine, had to be loaded into our landscaping trailer. Every Thursday the trailer had to be completely cleaned out and converted from landscaping equipment to lemonade and kettlecorn equipment. It was a lot of work, but it was all part of building something of our own.
For a while, our setup consisted of the tent, the counters, and the lemonade and kettle corn equipment, but in 2017 we took a big step forward. We found a bright yellow lemonade trailer on sale and purchased it on Matthew’s birthday. That trailer became a turning point for the business, giving us a dedicated space and a recognizable presence wherever we set up.
Over time, the business continued to evolve. While fudge was where it all began, we eventually decided to focus fully on fresh squeezed lemonade and other popular treats, and we no longer sell fudge.
Years later, in 2023, another life-changing moment brought new inspiration. With the birth of our first grandchild, we began thinking about what we wanted to be called. “Grandma” and “Grandpa” felt a little too old-fashioned for us, so we chose something sweeter- Lolli and Pops.
That special moment inspired the name Lolli and Pops Squeeze Stop, a name that celebrates both family and the joy we put into every drink we make.
Today, what started as a small table at one farmers market has grown into something much bigger. Lolli and Pops Squeeze Stop now travels to farmers markets, fairs, festivals and community events across the state of Wyoming and other nearby states as well, bringing fresh squeezed lemonade, sweet treats and a little bit of family spirit wherever we go.
Through it all, the heart of the business remains the same as it was back in 2015: family, hard work, and sharing something delicious with our community.
At Lolli and Pops Squeeze Stop, we squeeze those lemons with love!🍋
