Learning From the Bees Conference & Workshop.

The fourth Learning from the Bees gathering takes place in the Blue Ridge Mountains (Floyd, Virginia), September 25-29, 2026. Beekeepers and bee lovers from around the world will congregate to celebrate the beauty, wisdom, and lessons of honey bees, in an intimate and spectacular setting. Additionally, we’ll explore other related themes: bridging different apicultural approaches, regenerative land stewardship, Indigenous wisdom, deepening one’s connection to nature, local activism, and more. It’s comprised of a three-day conference (September 25–27), plus optional hands-on workshop (September 28 & 29).

The bees love cleaning the last bits of honey from the extracted honey frames. This is our 3rd extraction so far this year. Our honey flow has been a bit crazy this year, as we have had a lot of rain and the bees haven’t capped the honey like they usually do. They still have a lot of honey in the colonies and are still brining in nectar. I’m having to harvest honey so the queen has a place to lay her eggs. Otherwise, the bees will back fill the brood space and she will leave. We have lost 2 colonies so far because of this.
On the bright side, we have lots of honey to sell.

Mark your calendars for this wonderful event. Proceeds go to help fund the work done by Micah’s Place. Micah’s Place is our local woman’s shelter.
We are one of the vendors for this event, selling our local honey, beeswax candles and possibly a few other hand made items.
A portion of all honey sales will be donated to Micah’s place.
