We have 34 broilers out on pasture. They're moved to fresh grass everyday and are being supplemented with a non-GMO, corn and soy free feed.
Planning to harvest this Tuesday and the price is $5/lb.

While it's not the best picture of our new "eggmobile", I thought I'd show how the hens have been preparing for market season.

And sorry to everyone who's missed us at the Saturday Farmer's Market at Steele Wines. We got a late start with our girls this year, so we are still waiting for those first eggs to magically appear. We're expecting them any day now.

So while cleaning the garage last night, I found this little lady with two brand new chicks. She has apparently been hiding for 3 weeks or so in an old cardboard brooder I hadn't thrown away. The feed and water were brought in shortly after I found them.
Obviously more chicks hatched between the time we found her and when I took the picture today.
