TLM Picks of the Week

(so hard to choose!!)

I grabbed five things I’ve been on a kick with this week:

😴 Magnesium oil for the “my body is tired but my calendar is not” crowd.

There are farm tours… and then there are farm tours where you meet the dairy cows, watch milk being bottled, peek into the cheese-making room, walk through the milking parlor, and learn that the cows have 24/7 access to a covered barn with mattresses.

Yes. Mattresses.

We recently visited Circle N Dairy with the City of Roanoke team, and it made us love them even more.

This is real local dairy: fresh milk, cheese, ice cream, eggs, and family-farm goods from people who care deeply about what they’re making and how they’re making it.

Orders are open through Sunday, and this is your little reminder that you do not have to choose between “real groceries” and “fun local finds.”

Start with the things you actually build meals around:eggs, meat, produce, bread, milk... then add extra pizzazz: mushrooms, pasta, sauces, sweets, pantry staples, flowers, and whatever small-batch thing accidentally becomes your new personality for the week.

Pickup options:
🌷Flower Mound: Friday, 3–6
🌳 Roanoke Oak Street: Saturday, 9–11
🚚 Local Delivery: Fridays, 10–3

And yes, pickup can be fast. But it can also be a tiny local food stop if you want to linger, browse what’s fresh, grab flowers, meet a maker, taste something new, and make your grocery run feel a little less… grocery run. You choose.

Order window closes Sunday. We’ll gather it all from nearby farms and makers, then have it ready for pickup or delivery next week.

Saturday mornings are now officially a thing.

The Local Markethouse is coming to Oak Street in Roanoke, with our first Saturday pickup happening May 30th (for orders placed through May 24th) at Roanoke City Hall by the fountain.

Orders are open now for that first Oak Street pickup.

Here’s how it works:

🌸 Order online by Sunday
🥕 Choose your pickup or delivery option at checkout
🛒 Pick up or receive your fresh, made-to-order local goods the following week

You can still choose Friday afternoon Flower Mound pickup or Friday local delivery, and now Roanoke / Oak Street pickup is available on Saturday mornings from 9–11 AM!

And because we add new things throughout the week, if you place an order and then see something else you love later, go ahead and place another one. We’ll group your orders together.

Fresh produce, pasture-raised meats, local dairy, eggs, bread, flowers, pantry staples, sweets, plants, and rotating weekly finds from the farms, ranches, bakers, growers, and makers we love.

We’re so honored to bring The Local Markethouse to Oak Street with the City of Roanoke, starting with our first Saturday pickup on May 30th.

Order online by Sunday, then pick up your fresh, made-to-order local goods the following Saturday from 9–11 AM by the fountain at City Hall.

Think fresh produce, pasture-raised meats, local dairy + eggs, bread, flowers, pantry staples, sweets, plants, and a few rotating surprises from the makers, bakers, farmers, and ranchers we love.

A little peek inside the carts this week!

We pulled together a few things neighbors have been ordering lately, plus some new and easy dinner helpers that are worth adding before orders close Sunday.

Recent favorites include eggs, organic chicken breast, Circle N cream, organic leafy greens, grape jelly, Circle N ice cream, microgreens, and a new weeknight beef cut from HighMark.

We also have fresh-grown mushrooms from Red River Valley Mushrooms, Vespa’s 7 spice blends, and a new smaller picanha steak cut that makes a really good steak night feel a lot more doable.

Partner Spotlight: t0tsauce 🌶️

This week we’re spotlighting Nate of t0tsauce: the sauce brain behind a lineup of award-winning, elevated hot sauces with big flavor, real ingredients, and absolutely zero boring bottle energy.

And yes, award-winning award-winning. The Chancla took 2nd Place People’s Choice at Zest Fest 2025, which feels very appropriate for a sauce named after a flying sandal of doom.

What we love most? These sauces are not just “hot for the sake of hot.” They’re built with real peppers, garlic, salt, vinegar, and actual flavor. No mystery heat sludge hiding in the back of your fridge.

Arts Fest, you were so good to us. 🫶

This weekend was such a sweet reminder of why we’re building The Local Markethouse: to help people discover the small farms, makers, growers, and producers right here in our own community.

From honey samples and peanut butter flights to handmade candy, local flowers, and so many “wait… this is local?” moments. We loved getting to meet you, talk with you, and share a little taste of what’s coming.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, sampled, signed up, asked questions, encouraged us, and told a friend. And an extra thank you to our incredible local partners who helped bring the booth to life.

We’re just getting started, and we’re so grateful you’re here.
