For years, two goldfish named Fede and Magui lived in a small glass tank bolted to the outside wall of a sushi restaurant in Buenos Aires. Direct sun. Street noise. Kids tapping on the glass. Most people walked right past.

In 1968, U.S. Navy meteorologist Paul Grisham lost his wallet while serving at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. He assumed it was gone forever. During the demolition of an old building in 2014, workers discovered the wallet behind a locker, where it had remained hidden for decades.

Rather than being discarded, the wallet became the focus of a years-long search to find its owner. Stephen Decato, his daughter Sarah Lindbergh, and Bruce McKee traced Grisham through the Naval Weather Service Association, online searches, and word-of-mouth before finally returning it to him in 2021.
