SOUTHERN DESSERTS not a bakery is my way of describing my grandma was born in 1934 in a one room cabin with no running water or electricity. The family had to go to the creek for fresh water each morning, and after milking the cows they would take the milk buckets to the creek to keep fresh and cool all day amidst needing it throughout the day to cook. My great grandma made fresh butter to sell and the family bartered in those days with the local market. They took their farmed corn to the mill to grind into cornmeal. They had a garden and canned. The recipes I have and bake are genuine from the good Ole days.

I believe in shop local as much as possible!! Its better produce, better products and overall helps support the people.

I often get fruit from local dealers when in season and freeze it for later. Last night I used my cherries, that I pitted myself!! and made a cherry cobbler. Right outta the oven it paired well with vanilla ice cream. Just like when Gma served it up.
