UPDATE: #1 is on hold for a family until Friday, #4 is on hold

We’re looking for homes for 4 of our puppies. Right now they are 5 weeks old. They’ll be ready for new homes February 10th, at 8 weeks old.

We’re not breeders, just wanted to experience puppies for the first time. And what fun it’s been! It’s also been a LOT of work 😉 Don’t know if I want to do again! Maybe one more time . . .

We’re asking $50 to help cover the cost of food for them and my time. Please message me via social media or email me [email protected] to hold a puppy. I need to hear from an adult to hold a puppy 🐶

They are Australian Shepherd/Border Collie Mix. They need to play and play some more. And someone who will give them lots of cuddles!

We did not dox tails and we have not given any rounds of shots.

There’s so much devastation around and I know it’s overwhelming. Social media and the news are flooded with places to donate. I know how overwhelming that can be too. When people in my family went through Hurricane Katrina I learned a lot.

Below are some ways you can give financially. But know this, you don’t have to give. Prayer is enough. Supporting your own family should always come first, then your local community. Both will have needs at some point - if you need to, save money for those times so you can help. You don’t need to give money to every need that pops up in the world.

Dogs. Of all the places they could choose to lay down, they consistently choose the grossest spots.

Today, Zana has chosen soiled shavings as the top spot to snuggle down in. Then they wonder why we don’t want to touch them or have them lick us.

Tonight we get our first freeze of the season. And then it will be warmer again in a few days. That’s Texas for you! Tonight I picked the last of the basil and am using up my last garlic clove. I’ll never stop saying that growing your own herbs is easy and worth it. 🪴 Anyone can do it, anywhere! I’ll spend the rest of the winter using my preserved garlic and dried herbs.

If you find yourself in a season where all you can do is serve and love your family, that’s okay. Seasons of parenting come and go. Embrace the exact one you’re in.

It’s okay to say no to the extra stuff, okay to say no to giving to all the charities you care about. In one season or another, God might just want you to JUST focus on your own people. Rest in that knowledge and serve Him by doing that to the best of your ability.

This is where I am right now and it’s good. Different than other seasons where we’ve volunteered, given to families in need and served families we know. Right now, God has called me home to serve the people He’s given me - my husband, my children, and our parents. They need all of me right now and they deserve it.

Just a reminder that you aren’t called to be everything to everybody. Don’t feel guilty if all you have capacity for is your family. That’s enough! 🎄💗

I finally got my winter beds all buttoned up for the season. This Texas weather has been working in my favor giving me ample time to get it all in. Because of my current season of life, I purchased starts for almost all of it. The only things I planted from seeds are carrots and radish.

Today’s task was to finish the two in ground beds and plant all of my garlic cloves. This year I planted a LOT. Well over 60 cloves. Last year I planted 52 and have plenty to last me until June 🧄

Lesson: do what you can with the capacity you have. And remember that your capacity changes with each season that you’re in.
