Kissel Horses

Kissel Horses The Kissel family has been raising this line of horses for generations in order to have the kind of horse wanted.

They have good dispositions, confirmation, and athletic ability for anything-competition, ranch work, packing, or teaching kids to ride.

Wow! We have been wanting another from this cross so we are sure thankful for this filly. We are so excited to have a full sister to Kate Kissel s good mare, Secretary. They don’t look at all alike now, but we hope she is like her!

We are praising the Lord for “Bullseye”. He’s not just our heading horse anymore. After winning the senior girls barrels for Jira and having the fast time of the weekend, he’s officially ALSO a barrel horse. Jira had to start running him last summer after her mare got hurt, (see the last post) and he surprised us all. Today was his best run yet so we know what he can do now! Jira also turned some good steers and roped a fast breakaway calf on him today as well as stepping off him in two goat runs. Guess he is one of our go-to horse’s now, following his half brother, Black’s big horseshoes to fill.

Also, here’s another shout out to Jira and Rosie for also winning both days of poles! What a blessed weekend getting to enjoy awesome horses, friends, and God’s blessings!

PS I am having trouble getting the video to post so maybe I can get it in the comments.

Here is a little appreciation post for my Little Red Rose aka “Rosie”. ♥️🌹
It’s pretty awesome to get to ride horses that we have raised, got going, and done well with. .

I sure have enjoyed every year I’ve gotten to ride Rosie. I want to thank my oldest sister, Jada, for passing her down even though she wasn’t really ready to.
Last year was pretty hard for me because I didn’t get to use her for the majority of the rodeos, but I’m so glad to have gotten through it. Last summer, I was sitting 1st in poles and 5th in barrels going into CJRA finals riding Rosie. But she had a fight with the fence and got cut up the week before finals. It was so sad to see her cut up and out of commission. Before the season started, one of my goals was to win the pole bending saddle on Rosie. It was pretty sad that her season ended so soon.

I am so blessed that she healed up so well after the time off. I am so very grateful to my mom for doctoring her when I couldn’t or didn’t know how to. It’s truly a big blessing that she has bounced right back this spring. She means so much to me.
It was so cool to win both rounds of senior girls poles at the first rodeo back from her injury. She really makes it so easy to love riding her.

The mares are in their winter haven! Now we are ready for some snow! They also got their feet trimmed, wormed, and some floats so they are all set. The next couple of months will go quickly until they start foaling! I’m always looking forward to seeing the new babies!

It’s time to halter break another crop of babies again. My goodness, when am I going to learn this basic stuff? Here are some thoughts the c**t and I both learned today.
Even if we don’t ask for issues or problems, they come up. It’s life, and it is about maturing. We can stay big babies in the weaning pen and not encounter too many confrontations, but it doesn’t help anyone, either.
In response to issues that make us uncomfortable, it really doesn’t help to run away or act out in anger. The quicker we can learn to stay by the Lord and receive quiet encouragement from him the better. It doesn’t help to look away or be sulky while blaming someone for the problem. You still have to respond and deal with it. It just takes longer and more pressure when we play the blame game.
Despite how it looks, we really can face any trial or hardship when we look to the Lord and stay close to him.

Jesus came as a babe…
And He will return riding a white horse to rule!

And the armies of heaven will be following Him on white horses! See Revelations 19:11-16. What a moment that will be! The Bible says that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord! (Phil 2:10)

Are you ready for Him? Don’t wait to bend your knee and confess Him as boss and savior of your life!

We are doing our share in providing white horses for the army! We are ready!!
