Mississippi Moon Naturals Mississippi Moon Naturals is a small farm business in rural Southern Illinois. Our goal is to ensure that our community has access to healthy local foods.

Mississippi Moon Naturals is a family-woman owned and operated small farm business in rural Southern Illinois. Our family has been farming for over 75 years on our rural farm. At Mississippi Moon Naturals we strive to be aware of our environment. We work hard to be a business that combines sustainable farming methods and ideas, to bring you and your family a healthy food source. We specialize in g

rowing heirloom and open pollinated seed and plants. We offer garden bedding plants, herbs and flowers for your garden. Since opening in 1996, we’ve worked hard to bring our customers the products that they want at reasonable prices.Other companies may offer similar services, but our services come with a personal touch. In the greenhouse, we grow year round in our Aquaponics system. Aquaponics is a sustainable food production system that combines the benefits of growing plants and fish in the same systematic environment. Fish waste is turned into nitrates by the systems nitrifying bacteria. Plants can easily take up the nutrients in this form. In turn, the plants roots filter and clean the water for the fish. Using this method of farming produces beautiful organic food because the fertilizers are produced naturally. Within our Aquaponics system we grow lettuce, spinach, herbs, and many types of vegetable plants. www.mississippimoonnaturals.com

Many of you may not know that we have our own line of bath soaps, bath soaks, foot soaks, salt & sugar scrubs that we make here on our farm. We've been creating our bath products for many years and our bath products are our own exclusive brand.

We have many loyal customers that love our bath products and have continued to buy them for many years.

I wanted to introduce you all to 4 of our best selling herbal bath soaps. Our soaps are made with carefully combined botanical, fruits, herbs, spices, essential oil and wild medicinal plants that mother nature supplies. We do not test our ingredients or products on animals.

Our gentle soaps are moisturizing and healing for the skin. They produce a nice lather to thoroughly clean the skin. Our soaps have medicinal qualities and aromatherapy benefits. Our soaps are highly aromatic and soothing to the senses.

We use no petroleum, unnatural dyes or colorants in our soaps. We use only herbs, flowers, fruits, vegetables, and spices to color our soaps.

I just wanted to let you all know in advance about our ' Fife Creek Okra' Giveaway during the month of February on our website. The first 25 customers that order from our website will receive a free packet of 25 seed of our Fife Creek Okra seed with their order. It is our little way to say thank you to those who support our small farm. J

Fife Creek Okra is an heirloom variety that has been in the Fife family since around 1900 and believed to have been given to them as gift from a Creek Indian woman who visited with them for one year in Jackson, MS. This variety is rare but we have grown and preserved this seed for many years on our small farm.

We grow many types of Okra on our farm. Fife Creek is my very favorite okra. This is a wonderful okra, the pods can grow quite large and still be tender. It is light green with ribs running the length of the pod. Okra can be fried, added to gumbos, grilled, and pickled.

Be sure to check out our website to purchase your garden seed for the 2013 growing seed.
