This is the largest harvest of sugar snap peas we have ever had in one week! Come out to Yancey County Farmers Market tomorrow to take advantage of bulk deals while they last. We will have broccolini, baby carrots, radishes and lots of greens as well.

We've got Ancona ducklings! Anconas are a hardy dual-purpose heritage breed that lay white or green eggs. Jackie has raised a number of duck breeds and Anconas win out by a mile! We got more ducklings out of this hatch than we thought so we're a little in over our heads 😅 but excited to be back in the duck game!

Tomorrow! Can't wait to see y'all again. I'll have lettuce, spinach, a few radishes and a ton of artwork including six new original paintings I finished over the winter. Come say hi even if you don't need anything!

Can't believe we are just four days away! It was a long winter. We are all looking forward to seeing familiar faces and introducing some new ones. It is going to be the best market yet this year!

I don't usually express the story behind a painting because I like having the viewer interpret it themselves, but I realized I probably should add more context when I post online.

In general my themes are pretty obvious-- man versus nature being the most prevalent. The flora and fauna involved are often native to the area I live in, Western North Carolina, but not always. This painting has plants and an insect native to Eastern Africa, in particular Tanzania. The orange flowers are called Montbretia, the white flowers are Datura (which are poisonous/hallucinogenic when ingested) and the tree is named Jacaranda. The insect is a Devil's Flower Mantis.

The world is dreamier than you probably think it is.

For sale as soon as it dries with prints coming in April at and online.
