The United States Constitution states in Article I, Section 10, “No State shall…make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts.” The Federal Reserve has destroyed this constitutional monetary system by creating a monopoly based on its fiat currency. Because the US Dollar is not backed by gold or silver, money can simply be created out of thin air. Since 1971 when Nixon directed the US Treasury to suspend temporarily (like everything else in government temporary equals permanent) the convertibility of the dollar into gold or other reserve assets, money has simply been printed...and printed and printed!

As the Covid plandemic caused economic woes throughout the world the US government decided to really put the currency printing machines to the test. At the start of 2020, there was $4.0192 trillion in circulation. On January 4, 2021, the number increased to $6.7 trillion dollars. Then the Fed went into overdrive. By October 2021, that number climbed to $20.0831 trillion dollars in circulation. What that means (and read this next statement as many times as it takes to unnerve you): From January 2020 thru October 2021, the US had printed nearly 80% of all US dollars in existence! Not to be too simplistic but I think that everyone understands that the value of something decreases when there is more of it.

Senate Bill 100 has been introduced into the Missouri Legislature. If passed this bill would take several steps to encourage the use of gold and silver as money in Missouri, including making it legal tender, eliminating the state capital gains tax on gold and silver, and establishing a state bullion depository. Three states already have similar laws: Utah, Wyoming and Oklahoma.

Goldback, a gold bearing currency (1/1000th of an ounce of 24K gold in 1 Goldback) is already poised to be able to take advantage of a change in the law that would allow the use of gold in commerce.

Welcome to Goldbacks in the Ozarks. How do you feel about the US Dollar? Do you understand that our currency is fiat money? That means it’s legal tender but has no intrinsic value. It only has value because of the citizen’s faith in the government. Ask your friends and neighbors if they have faith in the US government. Actually you don’t need to ask them because you already know the answer. Do you wish there was an alternative? Luckily there is a great alternative. It isn’t a currency that is backed by gold it is actual gold in amounts that can literally be used in everyday commerce. Maybe you have some silver or gold coins. How can you go buy milk and bread with such coins? You can’t unless you’re willing to buy gallons and gallons of milk and dozens of loaves of bread because of the value of even small coins. It will take small efforts at the local level to fight against the dollar but it is a fight worth waging. Welcome to the page and stay tuned.
