A much needed toe day was due for some of our milking cows! Trimming hooves is just one of the endless responsibilities it takes to keep happy cows that continue to produce healthy milk!

Big shout out to Adam with Marshall Livestock Services, LLC! He did a fabulous job by helping us maintain our milk cows hooves and their feet look absolutely fabulous! Thank you!

Our cute but not so helpful milking buddies! Sadie’s two spunky babies, Gracie and Griffin! Now that they have discovered the new jungle gym called a barn, they visit us quite a bit! But that’s okay, we enjoy the company! 🐐

Did you know…we test our cows for pregnancy right at the convince of our barn! It as simple as a small poke for some blood, a few drops on the test plate and voilΓ , you have RESULTS! 😁

Gratefully for those dirty udders and dirty legs that stomp in a bit extra mud through the milking area the last few day...

Although she is not in our milking rotation just yet, she sometimes makes her way into the barn during milking and sneaks a bit or two of corn while she gladly accepts some scratches! πŸ„

She is due to have a calf for us at the beginning of the year as she tested positive for being bred earlier this month! We can’t wait to watch Brownie become a mom(to hopefully🀞 a cute heifer) but most of all we are excited to start milking her! πŸ₯›

It is our sweet Sally girls birthday today! πŸŽ‰

She is currently our youngest milk cow and is 2 years old today! She was our first ever born dairy cow on our farm and is soon to be our next milk cow. She is one of two of our spunky and tiny but oh so mighty and naughty jerseys!

We raised Sally from a bottle due to her mother passing away a few days after she was born making her our very spoiled milk baby!

We have always called her β€œsals-berry” for a nickname giving her, her official name, β€œSally or Salisbury steak”! πŸ˜„
