Things are really starting to grow on the homestead! 😍
Harvesting the things we grow really fills up my cup. There is something so rewarding about watching all of the hard work and effort turn into food for your family.
We planted our first few blueberry bushes last year, transplanted black raspberries, raspberries and blackberries and also started expanding our strawberry patch. 🍓 Our boys LOVE berries!
This year I really focused on growing as much as I can from seed instead of buying seedlings from our local farm! It has been a great success! We are trying straw in the garden to help keep the soil cool and moist. Also using it to mulch the walking paths and prevent weeds. We will either love it or learn from it!
The entire family is involved in this, and the boys have planted most of what is in the garden so far, on their own! We are so proud of them! 
Our garden is certainly not picture perfect but it is frugal, functional and full of love. ❤️
I am excited to update here throughout the growing season and I’m so excited to share all of our extra goodies😁
