For the last year, we’ve been quietly building something we truly believe can change the livestock industry.

This weekend, we plan to officially launch our first live event on Northlight with the Valais West Regional Show.

And honestly? We’re equal parts excited and terrified. 😂

We’ve spent countless late nights building, testing, rebuilding, stress testing, and trying to think through every tiny detail of what show day should actually feel like for breeders, exhibitors, organizers, buyers, and spectators.

Our goal was never just “online entries.”

We wanted to build a platform that actually helps breeders capitalize on all the effort that goes into showing animals.

Imagine:
• digital stall cards with QR codes
• instant breeder profiles
• animals linked directly to marketplace listings
• easy sharing of your program
• automated pen assignments
• live show-day placings
• exhibitor networking
• searchable pedigrees and genetics
• one-click access to your flock information

This first phase is still considered our pilot/testing phase through June while we continue refining features with real-world use and feedback.

We fully expect a few bumps. (That’s what happens when real shepherds finally get their hands on software. 😅)

But we’re incredibly proud of what’s been built so far and even more excited about where it’s headed.

We’re rounding out the testing phase of the Northlight Event Management System and getting ready to roll it out with our first live event — the Valais West Regional Show 👀🐑

We’ve been deep in testing with our founding breeders… and things are coming together in a really exciting way.

We’re getting close to sharing Northlight more broadly, and over the next few weeks we’re going to start highlighting different pieces of what we’ve built.

We are so excited to share that we are now live, for a small group of testers! www.northlight.farm - we have a total of 23 spots for our Founders Club. These are the folks that will help us find all the cracks and wrinkles and pressure test her before she's open to all. We'll be prioritizing those spots right now to sheep breeders as that is our first species we will be opening with. Let the games begin!

We are in the final pre-testing polish stages and are so excited to go LIVE for our testing team soon. Our fearless leader will be DM'ing everyone a link for signup. Deploying will be a long process so testers, you can expect communication from us tomorrow!

🚀 Big update…

Tomorrow the Northlight website goes live and we begin our first official testing round.

Because of the depth and power of the platform, we’ll be running an intensive two-week testing period with a group of early breeders before opening things up more broadly.

Northlight has grown into something much bigger than what many of you first knew as The Flock Market. The goal has always been the same — build better tools for serious livestock programs and create a trusted place to connect with others in the industry.

Some of what’s already built into the platform:

• livestock herd management
• embryo and semen catalog tools
• a genetics-focused marketplace
• breeder evaluation tools including inbreeding coefficient analysis
• advanced reproduction tracking (flushes, embryos, recipients, etc.)
• livestock transport coordination
• professional service providers (shearing, photography, repro services and more)
• automated care tasks and herd reminders
• show and event tools for grading, placements, and awards
• simple herd imports from spreadsheets and other herd software

Over the next two weeks we’ll be working closely with our early testers to push the platform hard, find the rough edges, and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Sometimes quiet means building.
And wow—did that pay off.

We took a beat to really look at our brand, rebuild our Marketplace from the ground up, and create something far better than we ever imagined. What’s coming together has us genuinely giddy.
