March Against Monsanto Houston

March Against Monsanto Houston GMO Facts
•Most developed nations do not consider GMOs to be safe. What can we do?
•We use our hard earned dollars to prove to them we mean business.

We march to build awareness in our nation on how important this issue is—not only for our generation, but for the countless generations yet to inherit the earth we leave behind. What are GMOs?
•GMOs, or “genetically modified organisms,” are plants or animals that have been genetically engineered with DNA from bacteria, viruses or other plants and animals. These experimental combinations of genes

from different species cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding

Why We March??
•We march because we deserve the right to know exactly what we are eating.
•We march to support our local farmers who are being pushed out of business by companies like Monsanto.
•We march to build awareness to our nation on how important this issue is not only for our generation but the generations after us. In more than 60 countries around the world, including Australia, Japan, and all of the countries in the European Union, there are significant restrictions or outright bans on the production and sale of genetically engineered foods.
•In the U.S., GMOs are in as much as 80% of conventional processed food. Shop at local farmers markets and local co ops.(Keep in mind you don't have to throw away everything and start organic or non gmo at one time.Once something runs out for example peanut butter, ketchup etc replace it with an organic or non gmo brand)
•You can also come out and support the cause May 24th at Westheimer and Post Oak as we stand together and raise awareness on why we deserve to have GMOS labeled in Texas and the United States.
