Let's talk about our world-famous Snake Bean / Python Bean / Snake Gourd.

We love this fruit because it tastes like a cucumber with a fruit twist and smells like buttered popcorn. Peel the outer skin, and you can eat it fresh like a cucumber, or cook it like a zucchini that shines in stir fries and curries.

The hollow interior gives it a light, refreshing feel, and even the goopy coating around the ripe seeds is surprisingly tasty.

The Python Bean is a summertime hero for southern gardeners who struggle with squash. This plant loves space and behaves a lot like a loofah with vines that can stretch over thirty feet. It climbs fast, explores everywhere, and stays impressively pest-resistant.

Snake beans have a lower germination so it is smart to start more than you think you will need.

Snake Beans thrive in heat. Plant them only when the soil is warm and spring is fully settled.

They grow great in Aquaponics when trellised.

Nutritional Values:

The Snake Bean / Python Bean / Snake Gourd. aka: Yardlong Bean, is rich in dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin A, and folate. They also provide some protein, potassium, iron, and magnesium, supporting digestion, immune function, and heart health.
