Hey Folks, it's official -- Rolling Grocer 19 is getting ready to launch on September 12 in Hudson. So, the time has come where perhaps you will all enjoy your stroll down to pick up fish! And...maybe one of these babies could even see the treatment of a grill?!?I am going to keep some basics, as always, but...I am thinking of bringing in a few new and exciting fish this coming week, as well as all of May, at all different price levels, just so you all can have an opportunity to try some new things or rediscover some old favorites before we phase out this program and replace it with a more limited seafood section as part of a whole diet mobile food shop, serving it's way through Hudson!!! So, eat fish. Below I am going to write out a list of what I think will be available for next Thursday's distribution and if there are any small tweaks, I will email them, as well as a reminder to get your orders in on Monday. Please do not hesitate to order early! I love that, but, if need be, I am also happy to put together last minute orders. They are kind of exciting to me, too! Deadline for orders is Monday, anytime. I MUST have your order when I rise on Tuesday. As always, I will be bringing extra of a few things so those of you new to the program who forget to order as well as your friends and family can still come out and support us while we support you! Where we will be-
Good evening folks! So, it has been too long and I hope you have told your friends and family about this program since I last saw you. The fate of the availability of fresh seafood through this program lies on both you all and us! We need the word to spread around the county because this baby nonprofit just does not have advertising in the budget right now so let's work together to have a crowd of people gathered around heaps of ice and fish this Thursday!! I will order extra of shellfish, whole fish, and fillets so that you can feel confident sending people to chat with me from 3:30-6pm on Warren st, in front of Bruno's. I will also be set up for a short time in Germantown but Otto's is doing some renovations so I am not sure where I fit in this week, I will try to occupy some space in front of the pop-up they have planned across the street but I will only add to the chaos, I am afraid. That being said, if I do get orders from folks in Germantown, I will make it work over there for sure! Whew!

What we do-
We are bringing the highest quality seafood, mostly from the northeast, occasionally some wild flash frozen specimens, as fresh and as affordably...to you. The only commitment we ask of you is that you arrive within our time frame and bring check, cash, or EBT card to pick up your order. You can order only one time ever or every time we come! We order the seafood based on pre-orders as well as a little extra for newcomers and sell it on a sliding scale in order to break down some barriers of food accessibility of our own community members, mostly in Columbia County. We simply ask a little to find out where your household lies on the income scale and you pay for your seafood at a rate that reflects that. There is very little to compare us with since we are getting responsibly sourced seafood shipped to us overnight directly from the docks...I believe all of our price levels are fair and I want to bring more high quality proteins to more frying pans every month! So, we are back in the land of the sea, bringing super beautiful fish into the Hudson Valley, on a sliding scale, based in Hudson. Below you will find our current estimated seafood list. We have made a few changes to our income chart, attached below as well. Please place your orders asap, the deadline being Monday at 1pm. I will email out any changes if there are any major additions or subtractions Monday by 11:30am. I will confirm each order by email so if you don't hear from me, check in. So, we are the Seafood Buying Club, based out of Hudsun, NY. Our mission is to bring in the most affordable, sustainable seafood and other proteins (coming soon...land proteins!) possible based on a sliding scale system where what you pay is based on what you earn. There will be some small changes in our earning/buying scale coming in January so be sure to check out our scale again then! In the meantime, we really look forward to humans placing orders with us to access wholesale level prices, below wholesale for the lowest earning tier, and up from there, in order to bring the freshest seafood to members of our community. We are mostly focused on the Columbia County area but are not at all closed off to folks who want to travel to us! We are created by a group called the Hudson Core Group, a community led action group made up of mostly Hudson residents, all folks residing in Columbia County, responding to a voiced need in the Hudson area for access to fresh and healthy foods, which we intend on expanding on from here on out. This is a program for ALL income levels!
We accept SNAP/EBT at our Hudson location on Warren st and could also begin to accept SNAP/EBT for deliveries and for our Germantown distribution if you contact me ahead of time.
We also accept cash and checks. We are getting fresh seafood right from the docks of the northeast so it is the freshest we can access, and we are able to pack it for fresh use, or for future use by wrapping it in freezer paper. While I do order extra fish to be sold during the Hudson distribution, I really appreciate orders placed ahead of time to keep prices low. I also would really like you all to tell a couple of people who would be interested because it is critical that we spread the word through the community in order to sustain this program. There is NO commitment to order multiple times. It is perfectly acceptable to order one time a month, or two, or every other month...There are no dues or fees you need to pay. This is simply an order ahead bi-weekly opportunity to access seafood at a superb price brought to you by a great group of thinkers and supported by Hawthorne Valley Farm.
