One of the less fun parts of gardening… squash bugs.

We’re a nature-loving family, and we truly believe every creature has a purpose. Charlotte loves finding bugs in the garden, and we’re always teaching her to appreciate nature. But we also know there are some “bad bugs” when it comes to growing food.

Squash bugs can do a lot of damage to squash, zucchini, pumpkins, and other plants, so we’ve been checking leaves every day, removing eggs by hand, and doing our best to protect the garden without harming the good bugs that help it thrive.

Gardening isn’t just about harvesting vegetables—it’s about learning, problem-solving, and understanding how nature works. Every day brings a new lesson, and we’re grateful Charlotte gets to experience all of it.

My garden is really starting to flourish, and I couldn’t be more excited!

Today we made homemade strawberry jam, and tomorrow we’re making blueberry jam! Right now, it’s looking like Charlotte’s Farmstand will have its Grand Opening on July 25 & 26 (if Mother Nature cooperates!).

I’ll be sharing the address and all the details very soon. I can’t wait to welcome everyone to my farmstand!

“Bonnie’s growing up, and we don’t get to decide when that happens. All that matters is we were there to help her along.”

That line from Toy Story 5 has stayed with me.

The movie was about somethibg that feels so relevant today—how easy it is for kids (and adults) to get pulled into screens and miss the world happening right in front of them.

That’s one of the biggest reasons we started our garden and Charlotte’s Farmstand. It was never just about growing vegetables. It’s about slowing down, getting our hands dirty, watching things grow, meeting our neighbors, and making memories together.

Charlotte craves this kind of childhood, and as long as she wants to spend her evenings in the garden with me—picking tomatoes, smelling herbs, chasing bugs, and learning where food comes from—I’ll keep saying yes. Because one day she’ll grow up too, and I hope these are the moments she remembers most.

My garden is growing!!!

Every night I love going outside with my Mom, Dad and sister Sutton to see what’s ready. I get to pick yummy vegetables and herbs and taste them right from the garden. It makes me so happy to see everything growing a little bit more every day!

Hi to all my new friends! I’m so happy you’re here. I can’t wait until my garden is big enough to open Charlotte’s Farmstand in Huntington. I’m working really hard, and I hope I get to meet all of my neighbors very soon!

Farmers Charlotte and Sutton have been working (and snuggling) extra hard in the garden getting everything ready for the season. Seeds are sprouting, plants are growing, and we can’t wait to see it all come together. We’re looking forward to opening the stand and sharing everything we’ve been working on with you!

We’re coming up on our very first season in our new home in Huntington and life has been beautifully busy for Farmer Charlotte. This spring, she welcomed her brand new baby sister and little farm hand, Sutton Mae, just in time to help get the garden ready for the season ahead.

Together, we planted all of our vegetables and created the sweetest garden to celebrate Mother’s Day as a family. While we’re excited to grow roots in our new community, we’re equally grateful that we still get to see so many familiar faces from the neighborhood that loved and
supported Charlotte’s Farmstand over the last four years.

We just finished canning fresh raspberry jam, and this is only the beginning of what is to come for our 2026 season.
