Day Glow begins long before I fill the first bottle.

It starts with calendula and carrots grown here at Vital Acre, then slowly infused into nourishing oils.

Those farm-grown infusions are joined by astaxanthin—a naturally occurring carotenoid antioxidant derived from freshwater microalgae that helps defend skin against the oxidative stress behind visible aging.

Day Glow’s golden-orange color comes from the ingredients themselves, with calendula, carrots, sea buckthorn oil and astaxanthin all contributing their own warm hue.

Using a facial oil in hot, humid weather doesn’t have to mean walking around with a heavy layer sitting on your skin.

I simply adjust the amount with the season.

There comes a point every Florida summer when even the thought of putting something rich on my face feels like too much.

But more heat, sun and time outdoors don’t mean my skin suddenly needs less care.

They just change the kind of care I’ll actually use.

So I pare things back: fewer products, lighter layers and a few drops of Day Glow applied to damp skin in the morning.

According to my fitness ring, I recently spent an hour cycling and burned 352 calories.

Impressive—considering I hadn’t been anywhere near a bicycle. 😂

What I had actually done was spend an hour chopping beef suet into small pieces to render into tallow.

It also detected two “unknown activities” that day:

🌱 Flipping garden beds to plant our pre-fall cover crop
🌿 Reclaiming the back patio from the jelly melon vines

Total calories burned: 714.

According to my fitness ring, I’m a cyclist who also participates in mysterious endurance sports.

According to me, it was just a fairly normal Sunday on the farm.

However, it seems that farm-to-skin skincare is a full-body workout. 💪
