It has been a busy week as we build out our quaint little Desert Doe Bakery location on Beale Street! We are joining the heart of historic Route 66 here in Kingman, Arizona! ❤️🍪🥐🍞

Thank you to all our regulars and Rosebird Farms customers who have reached out asking when we will be baking again. It means the world to us to read how much people love and miss our family recipes.

We promise! The wait is soon to be over!🤞

Our biggest permiting and licensing hurdle this week, believe it or not….is sinks. There is more facility health codes about sinks than anything else it feels like. We have to install 5 different sinks this week so we can safely operate our artisan bakery. 🚰🤪❤️

It was a struggle to track them down, but our egg operations are officially expanding as we take on 40 more egg laying chicks into our growing flocks. We have partnered up with some awesome local farming friends to grow our chicken opportunities quickly as possible. More info coming soon, and of course more adorable chicken videos!

Our current Easter egger chicken flock has our nest run eggs available very soon to Rosebird Farms csa customers.

Good morning Lake Havasu! We unfortunately won’t be at the Lake Havasu Farmers Market for a little while, and are currently mid moving the bakery to our new permanent home!

The space we had was not the low cost viable startup option we had hoped, but we have a new spot already lined up in the heart of Historic Route 66, our new permanent bakery home will be in Kingman Arizona!

Don’t worry if you can’t make it to our new kingman bakery when it opens soon, you will still be able to online order from Rosebird Farms and select the Lake Havasu Farmers Market as your local pickup delivery spot! Rosebird Farms delivers items sold farmer direct across Lake Havasu, Kingman, and Flagstaff. Even though bakery items are temporarily not available…our farm’s Nest Run Eggs, All Natural Whole Chickens, and Rare Gourmet Mushrooms are still available for order on Rosebird’s direct farm to table CSA network. Place orders today for delivery next week. 💚

This week has been busy for us…we moved out all our equipment from our downtown Havasu location, and then picked up the new beating heart of our fast growing bakery.

We are beyond excited for the possibilities that moving our bakery to the heart of Historic Route 66 will bring. This move also helps us cut overhead costs to help our growing business thrive even better than it has so far. We hope to have our new bakery space on Route 66 open in the next 2 to 3 weeks.

This new monster of an oven may not look like it but it is such a blessing! When you are given a $20k working Hobart commercial oven, for a low low price of $1800…You of course stop at an ostrich farm to celebrate in the middle of the desert. Feeding squid to an aquarium full of stingrays….stingrays are technically in the shark family, so we pretty much got to feed a swarm of desert sharks. 🦈🏜️🏝️😂❤️

Happy Friday Havasu! We are busy in the bakery getting ready for the Lake Havasu Farmers Market this Saturday.

We have sourdough fresh out the oven available today, along with chicken pot pies, beef stew pot pies, and cherry berry swirl cheesecakes are in the cold case.

See you all tomorrow at the market if you can’t make it down for bread today. ❤️🍞🥖🥪🥐

Late night farming chores look a little different when you grow gourmet mushrooms for your community. Our crops are non-gmo and all natural, but, mushrooms are technically an organism and not plants. So, things are done a little different than your typcial veggie. 🥕

Since they are not plants, we don’t have typical “seeds” to easily and quickly grow them.

So we have to use our farms laboratory to create “spawn” from genetic tissues samples that we incubate inside whole oats grains to be used like seeds. This lab work is the first stage of that complex process to grow rare mushrooms. They are so rare in the wild because of how sensitive they are to contamination from simple things in our environment like yeast.

It always brings out the nerdy science teacher in me when doing lab work at the farm to help feed our local community.

We have collected from partnership purchases from mushroom farms around the world. Today we processed genetic samples of Pink Oysters, Gold Oysters, Brown Hawk Oysters, Blue Brat Oysters, Appalachian Cordyceps, and several Lions Mane varieties like Lions Pride, Lions Paw, and Lions Beard. We have some big plans in the works as we talk with more local boutique grocery stores about carrying our mushrooms and bakery products. ❤️🍄

Hi, all! There’s good news and there’s bad news.
Bad news: we’re closed today. There are some things on the farm we simply have to catch up on. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.
Good news: we’ll be open again tomorrow, February 7, for normal business hours, 9am-4pm.
GREAT NEWS: there is a farmers market this Saturday (and every Saturday) at The KAWS from 8am-Noon. 🎉🥳👏
