This weekend's special, 3/13-15, is an especiale unique combination- (say that again to yourself in a French accent.) The Chicken Parm on a garlic cheese roll is magnifique. Do the little smooching thing with your fingertips off the lips. Christy has spent all day making cinnamon rolls, Classic, Caramel Pecan, Blueberry Lemon, and Caramel Apple. Real apples, inside. Sit down a minute, don't get faint. Friday and Saturday 11-7, Sunday 10-2, at Crawfordsville Home Depot. Just coast in casual, we're on the right side, there's no rush. Be relaxed. Be hungry. I have so many garlic cheese rolls you wouldn't believe. I will be your backstreet cast-iron chef for your tummy. Breakfast burrito or Egger all day, Hasbrown casserole, goodie-goodies. You must be here.

Every February I try and fill up the freezer for items my family eats alot of! This truly saves us a lot of money and it's only a few hours. So I decided that I should share some of my recipes that I do to help cut down on grocery costs, Since they don't look like they're going down anytime soon!

✨ **Homemade Frozen French Fries – Perfect Every Time!** 🍟❄️

Want to stock your freezer with delicious, homemade French fries? Here’s the simple method I used:

1️⃣ **Wash & cut** potatoes into fry shapes.
2️⃣ Place cut fries in an **ice bath for 10 minutes**.
3️⃣ While they chill, bring a large pot of water to a boil.
4️⃣ After the ice bath, **blanch fries for 3–5 minutes** in the boiling water.
5️⃣ Move fries into a **second ice bath for 10 minutes**.
6️⃣ Pat dry thoroughly with a towel.
7️⃣ Spread fries in a **single layer on a baking sheet** and flash-freeze for **2 hours**.
8️⃣ Once frozen, transfer to freezer bags for storage.

🔥 **To cook:**
Place frozen fries on a baking sheet, spray lightly with oil (I like avocado oil), and season however you like.
Bake at **450°F for 25–30 minutes**, flipping occasionally, until perfectly crispy.

And that’s it—homemade frozen French fries ready whenever you need them! 🍟❤️

ENJOY!!!

I used a mandolin for my french rice.Because my family likes waffle, cup fries or crinkle fries. If you use a mandolin, please be careful. It will cut you!

I have always loved sewing since I was a little girl. I got i started because my parents bought me with an American Girl doll, but not extra clothing. In there defense it's expensive! Started with doll clothing, then kids and adult clothing and now quilts. I have been making quilts for 2 years now, but never long armed them myself.

Today I branched out and learned how to long arm a quilt. Not going to lie this was intimidating, but so much fun! Learned alot of new techniques and definitely will be wanting to purchase one of these, once we get a bigger house!

The Indiana legislature is now in session again, and I feel like every person who loves to support their local grower, maker, and baker governed by Indiana's current cottage laws should know about House Bill 1424 and the fight for more food freedom in Indiana.

If you're a regular patron of any of the wonderful farm stands and small farms in our area, you're probably already aware that the state of Indiana prohibits us from selling a long list of potentially "hazardous" perishable food items to you. Some examples of foods that they believe are too dangerous for you include: frosting made with butter or milk or cream cheese, cheesecake, bread with chunks of cheese baked in, cream and fruit pies, pickles, and more. This also would allow home based vendors to sell to other small businesses as wholesale. As the cottage laws state only commercial kitchens can sell goods in other businesses. There are instances of some local growers and makers in our state being told by their local health department that they can no longer sell legal things like ferments (such as kombucha and kimchi) and single-cut spring lettuce mixes because they're "not safe."

This balance between wanting to offer you locally grown, REAL food and having to abide by state cottage laws is happening behind the scenes at every single farm stand and small farm you visit. Indiana boasts that it has relaxed home-based vendor laws, but at least 17 other states have robust food freedom laws that allow small farms and homesteaders to sell virtually all foods to their customers.

The Institute for Justice is partnering with several Indiana representatives, including Representative Hunter Smith (a regenerative farmer himself), to advocate for more food freedom in Indiana this legislative session. Their bill, House Bill 1424, seeks to expand food freedom for folks in Indiana like YOU who buy food from small farms like mine. You can read the full bill here:
https://iga.in.gov/pdf-documents/124/2026/house/bills/HB1424/HB1424.02.COMH.pdf

If you believe that you should be able to buy real, homegrown, local food from your neighbors without the government weighing in on it, please consider clicking the link below to send a super-easy letter to your representative about House Bill 1424. I would really appreciate it, and I know all of the other farm stands and homesteaders in our area would, too!

With much love and thanks,
