It’s going to be an absolutely stunning market day, and there’s no shortage of excellent local groceries. Come for the fruit, veg, bread, dairy, eggs, pantry goods… stay for the community hangs and live music.

Meet Cottontail Farm!

When Ginny and George bought their three acre property in Longmont in 2020, it was mostly an open grass field - becoming farmers wasn’t exactly the plan.

Just a handful of years later the field has become Cottontail Farm - a small scale flower farm growing beautiful seasonal blooms using regenerative practices like no-till, cover crops, compost and drip irrigation.

We spent a morning walking the rows with them, learning how this little flower farm came to be and why growing flowers locally matters.

Meet Pupusas Familia

Founder Franklin Escobar grew up on a small ranch in El Salvador, where his family raised corn, beans, rice and vegetables. After moving to Boulder in 2010, he found something familiar at the farmers market - a community built around food, farmers and neighbors.

Today, his family makes traditional Salvadoran pupusas by hand, sourcing fresh ingredients and serving them alongside curtido and salsa.

We’re grateful to have Pupusas Familia at the market. They help us fill our bellies while we’re there hanging with neighbors shopping for groceries, and they provide frozen pupusas to take home (pro tip - very easy meal for kids. And they’re GF and clean simply ingredients!)

Jennifer Hill has been building some serious steam since launching last year at the Lafayette Farmers Market! Great gluten free and dairy free options, baked fresh for your home.

As a family with a gluten-free kiddo, we’ve become addicted to the GF English muffins - the trick is just getting there before they sell out!

Grateful for Jennifer and all of her hard work getting this bakery off the ground. It’s such an asset for our market community!

There are over 50 volunteers that rotate in and out of the farmers market on Sundays throughout the season to make this place thrive! It truly takes a village.

These folks are all impressive on their own - parents, doctors, software engineers, real estate brokers, students, tech folks… you name it we have it. And they work hard during the week and still volunteer on the weekend! Honestly insane.

Next time you see a volunteer in a green “staff” shirt or sun hoodie thank them! They’re making this community event happen week after week 💪
