Honoring Jeff Trenary.
A Belted Kingfisher flies, banking and turning, swiftly winging the course of Coal Creek, angling past alder limbs, ... bold chattering call tracing its flightpath so clearly as to create a Doppler effect.

Kingfishers make me think of Jeff.
I live on Coal Creek, a tributary of the Nehalem River. And I first met Jeff at his farm, a few miles upriver: Kingfisher Farm of Nehalem, Oregon.

I knew Jeff as a farmer, and a character that helped define the farm-fresh veggies of the North Oregon coast, for many a decade. Quietly pioneering an organic farm in the rural foothills of the coastline. Pretty epic.

Gruff, yeah. Likable, you bet 💗😆

I miss him. He passed away this week.

More tangibly, I will miss sight of his oh-so-recognizable farm van announcing his presence on the local roads.

I hope you're catching some real nice waves my friend. 🌊✨
