Kawaba Beer is 100% malt beer, using only the finest imported ingredients from Germany, combined with the sweet natural spring waters of glorious Mt. Hotaka Gunma, Japan.

Kawaba (meaning “the place of the rivers”) is the name of a small mountain village located in Gunma prefecture, so named because it is surrounded by five rivers and many mountain streams. Kawaba Village sits at the southern foot of Mt. Hotaka. In ancient times, Mt. Hotaka was known as a holy mountain, and today many visitors climb the mountain’s seven crests to experience its natural beauty. Here in this lush mountain location Kawaba Village proudly brews German inspired SNOW WEIZEN and SUNRISE ALE. Our artisan brewers use only the finest ingredients combined with the crystal clear freshness of Mt. Hotaka’s sweet spring waters. We invite you to enjoy a new taste in brewing excellence with our KAWABA beers.

Yubari Melon from Hokkaido, Japan is in stock🍈
The Yubari melon is characterized by its mellow, liqueur-like aroma, rich sweetness and bright orange flesh with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. These characteristics have been maintained since the variety was developed in 1960, without a single change. The Yubari melon has all the ideal attributes of aroma, sugar content, and texture and is truly a "godsend" of a melon.
The best time to eat melon is when it feels slightly soft. When you lightly press the melon's bottom with your finger.
Melons begin to ripen after harvesting. Depending on storage conditions, temperature and individual melons there are slight differences.
Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours before serving for the best flavor.

“Minazuki”
“Minazuki” has been traditionally eaten for over 1,000 years on June 30th to celebrate “Ooharae”, a day for purification and warding off evil. The Imperial Court celebrated “Himuro-no-Sekku” or “Festival of Ice” where nobles had ice delivered to them to endure the heat from “Himuro” or ice huts where winter ice was stored. The white mochi of “Minazuki” depicts ice and the red azuki beans a talisman against evil.
Available Tuesday thru Thursday weekly, starting Jun 1st 1pm.

“Kashiwa Mochi”
Traditionally, Kashiwa Mochi is eaten to celebrate “Tango-no-Sekku” on May 5th, one of five main seasonal festivals in Japan. Oak leaves are used to wrap Kashiwa Mochi, and as old oak leaves do not fall until new leaves come in, they symbolize a continuous, stable family lineage and are considered lucky.
