Cretan Marine Conservancy - C.M.C It is about seeing a clean beach or ocean! It is about keeping yourself aware of the situation that Oceans are alive!

Without the ocean there will be no life, there will be no humans.

~ You visit the supermarket to buy a sandwich and a soda which you place inside a plastic bag. You use the plastic for a maximum of 10 minutes until you finish eating that sandwich and then you toss the bag into a trash receptacle or elsewhere. The bag goes into the ocean and stays there for more than 20 years. ~

We would like t

o bring people together at certain meeting points at our beaches and clean as much trash as possible while making sure It Is disposed properly. We encourage the use of ecological bags and gloves made out of eco friendly materials. Bags such as those we use to carry olives during Olive Harvest season. Beach Clean Ups will be announced weekly, weather permitting. Please give as a Like, Share our page and we hope to see you at your favorite place on earth called "Beach".

One of the most remote and beautiful beaches around the globe and one of the most visited by all sorts of different tourists. You have to park your car and walk down a 20-30 minute goat trail in order to feel the crystal clear waters. During summer it gets infested by thousands of visitors every day and the municipality of makes thousands from charging a toll fee of One Euro 1€ per head to those that chose to drive there. When we asked the girl that took our euros why do we have to pay her answer was because by paying we contribute with the beach cleanup expenses. We told the girl that every time we go there the beach is one step closer to being a major landfill and she responded with, "well, maybe it's because you go there late in the day". Our founder Manolis almost got out of the car and smacked her. But unfortunately he didn't. >>>>>>>>> Trash Photo Included...

Today we took a walk around the Old Harbour in the beautiful city of Chania and unfortunately someone had dumped a dark yellowy substance in the water (probably used engine oil from a boat). Sad!
