These littles are ready! Dual purpose breed. I have three bucks and three does. All are eight weeks old on Monday with the exception of the female REW (ruby eyed white) who is approximately four months old. She’ll be ready to breed in a couple of months. Friendly rabbits who are interacted with and handled daily. Docile dispositions.

My 12 year old son raises and sells Dubia Roaches, WHAT?! Hear me out!! It started a few months back when he wanted a whip spider or vinegaroon as a pet. My husband, he, and myself discussed it and the requirement was that he had to somehow provide the food without us having to run to a pet store on a regular basis to purchase crickets or mealworms. Collin did research and came across Dubia Roaches. They reproduce fairly quickly, as long as heat is provided, they are flightless and live approximately 1-2 years. I am able to get in on his little venture to feed our chickens this healthy snack a few times a week.

Fun facts about Dubia roaches: according to google, “They are a nutritious food source for chickens, offering a good source of protein, fat, and calcium. They are particularly beneficial during molting or when chickens need to gain weight. They are generally considered a healthier and more balanced option than mealworms for chickens. While mealworms can be a good source of protein, dubia roaches provide a higher calcium content.”

We have two hens, Fluff Puff and Dot, who have become broody. I moved them both this morning to our chicken tractor so they can sit on their eggs in peace. Fluff Puff found the nest right away and is happily sitting on 15 eggs. We shall see if Dot does as well! Lord willing, we will have several healthy new chicks in three weeks!
