FUN FACT !! 🦌
Most people don’t realize this when they walk through our doors, but Colony Deer Processors is run about 90% by women.

They’re the ones greeting you at drop-off, carefully handling your deer, paying attention to the small details, and making sure everything is done right. For many of them, this isn’t just a job — it’s long days, cold mornings, teamwork, and pride in doing honest work for our community.

We’re grateful for the women who keep this place running and for the hunters who trust us season after season. That trust means everything to us.

Don’t panic. Don’t hide it.

👉 Colony Deer Processors WILL BE OPEN for deer drop-offs BOTH days.

We’re here for:
🎅 “It ran out in front of me”
🦌 “I swear it wasn’t Rudolph”
🎄 “Am I on the naughty list now?”

Drop it off, we’ll take it from there.
Santa doesn’t need to know. 😉

🎄🦌 Colony Deer Processors Christmas Update! 🦌🎄

It’s that magical time of year when the deer are dashing through the woods… and y’all are dashing to our door with coolers.

Just a friendly reminder:
• If your deer shows up wearing Christmas lights, please remove them first. We can’t process anything that still blinks.
• Santa has asked that we stop returning deer with red noses. (We tried. It didn’t work. Rudolph’s union got involved.)
• And yes, we’re still accepting last-minute bucks—because nothing says “holiday spirit” like procrastinating on everything, including your processing.

Come on down, keep us jolly, and let us turn your deer into the best Christmas “ho-ho-ho-ven-ready” goodies you’ve ever tasted!

🦃🦌 Happy Thanksgiving from Colony Deer Processors! 🦌🦃

While most folks are focused on turkeys today, we know some of y’all are already eyeing that trophy buck like it’s the real main course. And honestly? Respect.

So here’s the plan for today:

🕛 We’ll be open for pickups until 12:00 PM!
If you’ve got meat ready and you want it before Grandma starts asking when you’re getting married—come on by.

❄️ Our coolers will be open ALL DAY for drop-offs!
Shoot your deer, tag it, drop it off, and get back home before anyone notices you slipped out during the prayer.

🧼 We DO have a cleaner on call!
So if you show up with a holiday buck, we won’t leave it looking like the turkey in that one nightmare Pinterest recipe.

Eat good, hunt safe, and remember:
Nothing says “Thanksgiving tradition” like sneaking off for a quick deer drop-off between plates.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Maxine Koon.

Maxine stood at the foundation of Colony Deer Processors. Alongside her husband, Vernon Koon, she helped build the family business that has served this community for generations. Their hard work and values shaped everything Colony is today…a legacy that continues on through their children and grandchildren.

Today our family is grieving the loss of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love held us together in ways words barely touch. Maxine was steady, gentle, and full of quiet strength…the kind of woman who made everyone feel like family.

As we walk through these next few days, we kindly ask for grace, patience, and understanding. While our hearts are heavy and we’re taking time to breathe through this loss, Colony Deer Processors remains open and operating. Our family is committed to continuing the work that Maxine and Vernon started so many years ago.

Thank you for supporting our family and honoring the legacy built by their hands. Your kindness and prayers mean more than you know.

We’ve had an awesome season so far and have been staying busy — thank you to everyone who’s trusted us with your deer this year!

To keep things running smoothly and make sure we can continue serving hunters throughout the season, we kindly ask that if you’ve been called for pickup, please plan to come by and get your deer as soon as possible.
