Forage to Feast class Yakona Nature Preserve & Learning Center was so super lovely. I am deeply grateful to be able to share my knowledge, experience, and wisdom of the edible + medicinal plants in the wild! We foraged a huge bag of nettles along with chickweed, miners lettuce, violets, plantain, spruce tips and dandelion that we whipped up into 3 batches of wild green pesto. Super yumyum!

Wild Greens: Forage to Feast
Explore the flavors and medicine of early spring at Yakona as the forest begins to awaken. Learn to identify wild edible and medicinal plants, discover their nutritional and healing benefits, and harvest ingredients to create and enjoy a simple wild food dish together.

Super Natural Skin Care
Learn how fresh, wild, and organic plants can be transformed into nourishing skin care products in this hands-on workshop. Students will explore the healing properties of select local plants, learn methods for infusing botanicals into oils, and create their own herbal skin care balms and salves. Participants will discuss how to choose appropriate herbs for different skin needs and will leave with a personally crafted herbal-infused oil and a tin of co-created balm. Recipes and samples are included.

Wild Rose Exploration: Nourishing Our Emotional Hearts
This immersive botanical experience invites participants to explore the emotional and heart-centered healing qualities of wild roses. Students will learn how to identify local wild rose species, understand their emotional and cardiovascular benefits, and craft an herbal preparation using fresh wild roses. The evening includes a short plant meditation, sampling a variety of rose preparations, and hands-on creation of a take-home remedy. Recipes and samples are included.

Pure and abundant generosity in every leaf, bud, stem, root, thorn and petal. Pulsing with warmth and nourishment, plants offer us their lives so we may sustain our own. I am ever heartened by their supreme beauty 🌸 They sing their stories to us with their colors, aromas, patterns, and depth. They are our teachers, and all we need to do is listen 🌿 May we all find solace, healing, grace, vitality, and sweet comfort as we connect more deeply with our plant friends.

Big bouquet of gratitude for being part of my life story. My Herbal studies began back in 1993 in the woods of North Carolina. My daughter, ,was a tiny baby, and we lived in a log cabin where we bathed outside, I heated our 2 room cabin with wood, and we wandered the forests while I learned about the native, edible and medicinal plants. It was truly a magical time.
Looking back over all these years I am humbled and deeply grateful to the plants for singing to me and shining their healing powers so brightly. My heart is sweetly grateful to all of you who support my LoveJoy, my Dream Come True.
I cant imagine my life without the wild plants. I am forever grateful for their love, support, and beauty. It is my sweetest pleasure to be this bridge between the plants and my community. Crafting fresh whole plant infused organic oils + elixirs is true and potent medicine. I continue strong and steady because of you.
