UNFORTUNATELY, YOU CAN'T TURN BACK THE HANDS OF TIME.
Whale oil once ran the world. Then coal. Then gas. Renewables will have their day too. History is a map, and unlike Aladdin, technological genies don't go back in the bottle. They can only be refined.
When someone says using AI is easy, I know they're telling the truth when they say they don't use it. It does make things easier. It makes things possible that were once impossible for me to do—or even learn—in real time. It also teaches me my trade while I work with it.
It's a tool. For an entrepreneur, especially one without an in-depth education, going without it in this day and age is, in my opinion, foolish.
It's more than an ad maker, as some business people above have stated. I have found that using it has given me access to and understanding of a world that I would have otherwise had to pay someone else to glimpse. Money I don't have. Access I would have done without.
And doing ads with AI can take hours. 😅 Do you really think those are all a computer's words, thoughts, and vision? It's a mechanical tool that can only produce from what it's given.
As for its potential destructiveness, I share those concerns. Just like I have concerns about gas. But I still drive a 2013 Ford F-150 with almost 400,000 miles on it. I'd love an electric vehicle or a hybrid. Truth is, I'm still trying to pay the rent.
I don't use AI—or drive a gas guzzler—because I'm lazy or because I don't care about the world I live in. I use the tools at hand to do the best I can for my family.
I'm 52 years old. I've heard about the "American Dream" my whole life. I've watched it on TV, even. And if I thought my stopping would dismantle the system and save the world, I'd still do it. I've always wanted to be a hero.
But I don't.
What I do know is that I've been watching this Road Runner called success outrun me for decades.
I'm gonna catch it.
Even if I have to use Acme Co. to get him.
So excuse me while I get my Coyote on.
(I still can't stand that beeping sound. 😑)
