To help your honey bees bounce back after a South Florida frost, focus on emergency feeding and hive ventilation. Since local nectar sources may have been scorched by the frost.
Now its warming up, conduct a quick inspection to confirm the queen is laying, and add a pollen patty to jumpstart brood production for the spring flow.
Finally, ensure the hive is tilted slightly forward so any condensation from the cold snap drains out rather than dripping on the bees 🐝🍯

This Veteran’s Day we want to take a moment to thank our Veterans and remind you of the collaboration we have with Hives For Heroes.

The Hives for Heroes Bee U Scholarship provides any active, retired military personnel or first responder with FULL REIMBURSEMENT for completed levels in our UF/IFAS Master Beekeeper Program (MBP). If you are interested in learning about honey bees, we highly encourage you to sign up for our MBP and take advantage of the Hives for Heroes program.
