We've been working on the second garden these last couple weeks. Weeded the rhubarb and I dug up the strawberries and replanted them. Jonathon has his raised garden and he's looking forward to starting carrots next week. I planted some brassicas ( threw a bunch of random seeds in a flat and waited for them to grow and put in the garden) covered them with row covering. Garlic is about 4-6 inches tall right now. I'm so excited to harvest that. We only had 1 chick hatch out from our incubator last week. He is doing fine. Bought other chicks from work to keep him company. Have another dozen put in the incubator. Also have a hen brooding over a dozen eggs and I think the geese will be hatching in the next week or so. Feel like they have been sitting for awhile now.

Made a meat pie for the boys whilst I am busy at work. I hope they enjoy it. It's almost too pretty to eat.

Made some cream filled donuts. As you can see a few are missing, lol😋. They were very good. I'm always looking for new recipes to try. The children love them as well. It was suppose to have chocolate frosting on it, but we dont care for that kind of frosting, so I substituted cream cheese frosting.

We did a little walk around our bushes/trees we planted over the years. The bush cherries have the the lower bark nibbled off. They aren't brittle like they are dead, but my worry is that they will die eventually because the bark is gone. Is there anything I can do to possibly save them? Or if they are beyond saving, what can I do to protect the new ones from being food for little critters?

I've found out my favorite cherry tomatoes is black strawberry. I've found them at Bakers Creek. What are some cherry tomatoes that others like? I am looking to try new ones each year, and keep my favorites. The new small tomato I'm trying this year is Ukrainian purple from MIgardener.

As of February 26th, I have some hot peppers up, onions, some celery, rosemary, and apple seedlings. I just seeded sweet peppers, eggplant, and some flowers that will take a long time to get going. My plans for the apple trees are to graft branches from my other apple trees to them when they are big enough because I do not know what type of apples the seedlings will produce. I start my peppers and eggplant early because I want them bug enough to be placed in the garden.

Just finished cold stratifying apple seeds from our apple trees. I was not expecting them to be sprouting already.
