Cape Cleare Fishery

Cape Cleare Fishery Sustainable Alaskan caught Coho salmon aboard F/V schooner. Direct marketing our catch since 1998. Visit: http://www.CapeCleare.com

We have been fishing in Alaska for over thirty years and direct marketing our catch since 1998. Our customers count on us for consistent quality, dependable delivery – locally by bicycle! – and extraordinary customer service. We rely on our customers for their discerning palates, socially responsible practices and willingness to befriend the people who provide their food. We fish in Alaska where the fishery has been managed for decades using conservation based practices. We catch wild King and Coho Salmon, one at a time, by hook and line. We flash freeze at sea – our fish are better than “fresh” and available year-round. Read more about our salmon, how we fish, why we deliver by bicycle and how to purchase on our website where you will also discover our appreciation for original artwork and the artists who create it.

Cape Cleare crew will be dishing up the Big Bob salmon sandwich at the R2AK Ruckus this Saturday, June 8, from 3-7 pm at the Maritime Center.

Come on out, support the brave and courageous racers, have a good time, and let your local fishermen feed you once again. 🙂

This will be our last event before we head north for our fishing season. We appreciate the amazing support we have received from the community. Thank you.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But, wow, this salmon tastes delightful!

Cape Cleare Fisheries would like to wish our Port Townsend community a festive and well-fed holiday season. We have sleds full of wild Alaskan salmon and black cod. Both are available in frozen fillets and smoked, ready to be enjoyed by family and friends. We also have cans of our pink and coho salmon back, just in time to stuff in stockings.
Come by the Port Townsend Community Center (620 Tyler St.) this Saturday (the 23rd) between 9am and 3pm to meet Cape Cleare, along with other local artisans of PT before the new year!

Happy Holidays,

Happy Wooden Boat Festival from aboard Port Townsend’s fishing vessel schooner Cape Cleare! For the past five weeks, captain and crew have been line fishing Southeast Alaska’s cold, coastal waters for Coho salmon, one by one, hook by hook. With our onboard flash freezer system, we clean and store our fish the moment they arrive on deck, which means our fish are FRESH. REALLY FRESH.
What this means for you, our beloved customers: F/V Cape Cleare will be anchoring just off shore of the NW Maritime Center this Friday (September 8th) handing Coho directly, fisherman to you, before we’ve even stepped on shore since leaving Alaska! Additionally, in the spirit of the Festival, we welcome fish-eating guests to tour this unique commercial fishing schooner built in Port Townsend and to enjoy the sunshine on deck. So kayak, paddle, row, sail, motor, or even swim on over and say hello!

Captain and crew will be available to assist in tie-ups, as well as skiff shuttles for adventurous customers.
Please direct your questions anytime to our crewman, Erik at 360-316-9848.
