Got another kennel! This will be the meat birds new home. My White Bresse are getting pretty large now, so I can tell which are most likely roosters and which are my hens. We will keep 2-3 roosters to breed and the extra roosters will go into this new meat bird pen.
Travis will do some fabrication to it so it can be mobile! That way, they can graze the grounds and fertilize each new spot they move to.

If you ever have a similar kennel for sale, please let me know! I’m always looking for more!🙏🏼 We prefer the Retriever brand Kennel so that everything matches. Plus they have proven to be very sturdy and durable! ☺️

Nellys cream line increase from day 2 to day 5. 😆 It’s gettin there!
Her milk tastes great, so I’ll be sending in milk samples tomorrow morning to see all the nutritional value, SCC and MUN level, and do the complete 16 mastitis tests that look for many different things.
I’m hoping by the end of the week to have results, but I’m sure it will be early next week. 🙃 The waiting game is so hard!!

Yesterday was new parts day!
AKA Your favorite day, and my least favorite day!🤣 it only takes maybe 45 minutes with cleaning the new parts after it’s set up BUT everything is so stiff when I milk and clean for the first week, sometimes longer. 🥴
That’s okay though, totally worth it!!

I even put what I think will be the correct size inflations on for Nelly. Last night and this morning’s milking went great, so I think the all medium inflations did well!!🙏🏼

Bessie gets two medium and two large inflations on her claw, all cows are different and it makes a HUGE difference in their milking experience when you have the correct sizing down!🖤 As many of you breast pumping moms know all too well!!!

Everybody loves raw cows milk around here!

Nothing goes to waste. It either gets consumed by the family or fed to our livestock. And I also make yogurt, heavy cream, cheese, and butter out of it, of course!!

Monday I will be sending in samples of Nellys milk to be tested before I start to sell it again. 🙏🏼 No concerns here though, her milk filters clear and her milk already tasted great the first day I tried it and every day since then! It keeps passing the CMT tests too, so that’s great news!

Dehorning our baby. 😮‍💨 This is a paste that cauterizes the horn buds and disables them to grow.

It is looking good so far and will heal up nice! We left the paste on about 45 minutes, then gently wiped the excess off so that it wouldn’t get on anything else and potentially burn her skin.

I’ll be keeping an eye on her head the next couple weeks to be sure no infection arises. 🙏🏼

With all this calf excitement I forgot to share my two new friends!

Everyone calls me now when they have roosters or chickens they want to get rid of and I LOVE IT! 🤣

They are beautiful and about the same age as my youngest batch so they will either be kept for breeding or butchered in the next month or two. We shall see!!

Bessie’s baby bump is sticking out now and cracks me up when I look at Nelly VS Bessie. 🤣 Nelly isn’t even prego anymore...

July 12th can’t come any slower!!😩

And yes I’m well aware that Bessie needs a bath really bad. 🥴 Hopefully I’ll have time this week to get her all pretty again. 🖤
