Time for a quick intro! Hi! We’re the Lanes!
We’re the heart and family behind the pork side of this collective. Raising our heritage Berkshire pork on our farm in Eastern Iowa is truly a team effort (yes, even Harvey helps!) From conception to dropping our pigs off at the locker for their appointment, we take an immense amount of pride in overseeing every single step in the process. When you place those orders on our website, this is who you’re helping support, and we are seeing now more than ever how important it is to know where your meat comes from and who produces it in the industry. These are the faces behind the passion of sharing what is on our tables and in our freezers with your families.

Welllll, you all have been patient and the boxes + cooler units we have anxiously been waiting for have touched down at the locker. We are back in the business of shipping! If you placed an order last week, your order will ship tomorrow. If you place an order within the next 24 hours, it will be delivered to you by Friday. We have several out of stock items, so look for those to be replenished on the website soon. We had 2 hogs go to the locker today, and we are working on our cut sheets as we speak.
To show how much we appreciate your patience in waiting for us to get ahold of boxes, we have put our Chops & Cheese package on sale on the website. For $41.00 + shipping, you can get 2 bone in, pork chops, a bag of regular cheese curds, a shaker of Happy Salt, and a shaker of Gourmet Garlic seasoning delivered to your door. 🧀 9 years?! Congratulations, Moore family.

Nine years ago today we sent our first load of milk to be custom made into cheese. It’s been a wild ride and we’re so grateful for you all to be a part of it ❤️

A big part of starting a business is not knowing how well it’s going to be received by the audience you’re trying to reach. We didn’t think we would need to order coolers + boxes for a while with our current stock before launching the website.

Turns out, we did. You guys have sold us out of multiple cuts and cheeses. We have officially run out of boxes and coolers (for now!) We never expected this. Ever.

Macy and Heather ordered boxes and cooler units last week, and they ship tomorrow. Hopefully they arrive on Monday or Tuesday of next week. With this being said, we have received a few orders in the last 2-3 days, and we will be reaching out to all of those customers individually to let them know their orders will be shipped as soon as we have boxes in stock.

It’s hard to remind ourselves that this is a GOOD problem to have! We feel so loved and so supported. We have shipped to the following states so far:

Whew! It was an amazing holiday weekend here. Did you guys have a great weekend? Heather was hard at work in the creamery with Kayla today, and they have FRESH curds ready to ship to you on the website or grab in the Moore Local store front.

We love the local support we have received. If you live in Preston, Miles, Bellevue, Goose Lake, Charlotte, Clinton, DeWitt, Maquoketa, Andrew, Zwingle, Otter Creek, Springbrook, Delmar, Lost Nation, Wyoming, Sabula, Elvira, Camanche, or Fulton or Savannah, Illinois, Macy will deliver to your house. You simply need to select “Pick Up” instead of shipping with your order on our website when you’re ready to check out. From there, Macy can coordinate with you to deliver meat, cheese, and any of our pantry products to your door. Make sure you have your cellphone number plugged into your Shopify account so you can be reached!

Wow. What an amazing first few days of operating. We are floored that we have sold out of so many of our cheeses and meat cuts. Thank you all for your support.
We wouldn’t exist without three special ladies who sacrificed their personal time so that we could shine so brightly. With agriculturally based backgrounds like both of us, we are proud to know these talented ladies, and we appreciate all they have done to get this little dream up off the ground and in the air.
Arin Strasburg sacrificed days of work and time to take our product photos and edit them. That’s right! Every single photo on our website is our actual product that was photographed at the locker in Maquoketa, Iowa. Not AI generated. Not pulled off of Google. Our photos are of our actual meats and cheeses. Arin is incredibly talented, and she’s the reason we can present our products at such an elite level. Arin, there aren’t enough words to thank you.
KO Photography & Videography handled all of our logo design, icon design, and branding colors. We appreciate what creatives in the ag sector bring to the marketing world, and Kadence is truly one of the best in the business. From photographing our family to marketing our boars and cows, we knew there was no one else we could trust to create the face of this collective. Thank you, Kadence.
Lastly, I don’t know if y’all have ever put together a website, but it’s far from easy. I had to call in the troops. Anna Sheets is an incredibly talented marketing creative in the ag sector. She didn’t hesitate to roll up her sleeves when I called her to ask for her help and experience with something so special. Our website wouldn’t look so polished if it weren’t for Anna’s work.
