I stepped outside today and felt that familiar Pacific Northwest magic wrap around me—the kind that makes me breathe a little deeper and pay attention. The sky had that soft, moody glow we do so well up here, and the trees stood tall like they were keeping watch over the moment. As I walked, a lone hummingbird zipped overhead, quick and bright, like it was delivering a tiny spark straight to my imagination.

There’s something about being a writer in this corner of the world. The beauty doesn’t just sit quietly in the background—it nudges, whispers, reminds me to look up. The sweet, familiar sounds of birdsong, rustling leaves, distant water… they all feel like part of the rhythm that keeps me creating.

Out here, inspiration doesn’t have to be chased. It finds me. In the cool air. In the greenery that never seems to fade. In that single hummingbird tracing a path above me like it knows I’m listening.

And I am. Every day.
