☎️CALL FOR HELP WITH DISTRO ☎️

We are looking for some extra helping hands 🙌🏾 to assist with our standard Thursday Produce Pick Ups 🚛 from our farm partners falllinefarms & seasonal_roots 🥳❤️‍🔥

If you’re available to grab either falllinefarms 11am 🕚 at Regency Mall Parking Deck or seasonal_roots before 2:30 🕝 usually from their warehouse in Scott’s Addition let us know fam! We can share the details of pick up and you can choose any to drop the goods at! Happy Thursday fam, and thanks for the help!

We received and installed a new to us fridge at the MADRVA Meadowbridge Market yesterday and could use some help giving it a deep clean to get it sparkling for drops this weekend and on for the fam! If you have a moment to give it a clean this weekend please swing by and if you need a cleaning kit let us know and we can give you one around the corner at Matchbox! Appreciate the help fam!!

THE FRIDGE FAM IS STAYING IN NORTHSIDE 🤪

You read that right fam 🎊 Our awesome co-tenants are moving onward and 🆙 with their awesome work 💞 and with this, the fridge fam will be taking over as the sole stewards of the Matchbox Mutual Aid space we have all grown to love 🔥

🤗 We want to have plenty of cook days, community events, community classes, and ofcourse general non food related fun events with you all in the space too fam 💘 We will be signing 📝 a 3️⃣ year lease and WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PAY FOR IT FAM 🙂‍↕️💚

You all have been our BIGGEST support system since DAY 1️⃣ helping us pay rent over the 3️⃣ years we have been in the building ❤️‍🔥 We have been preparing for this change ALL YEAR 💫so we do have the funds for the rent now, though not enough for rent + remodeling, new kitchen equipment, supplies, and most importantly to keep up all the usual awesome work we do now going on while we prep for more amazing plans to come 🙈

We will be officially fundraising through September 1st for these funds to get us all set up and last us through 2026 🥳 so please share this post with a friend or donate a dollar to our Venmo () Cashapp ($vacommunityfridges) or Open Collective 🔗 in our bio or below ⬇️ fam!

WE HAVE SUPER EXCITING NEWS 📰 FRIDGE FAM 🥳

You may have seen that 🆕 have been going up 🎉 from your Winter ❄️ Votes, this past weekend we installed the 📚 and the next location📍going up will be market side 🍛 🔜

⚠️ MONDAY’S COOK DAY IS CANCELED⚠️

Soooo sorry fam 😅 we have to cancel the cook day for Monday as we await funds from the 🆕 city grant to hit for the cook day 🙂‍↕️ Fingers crossed🤞🏾 said funds will hit by next week so we can get back on track with cooking with you all 🥳

This week the fridges will be heavily supported by the rocking fam who help us stock🍎, pick up goods from our local partners 🛍️, daily shoppers 🛒, and homecooks 🥘 making delicious meals!!

Homecook days for this upcoming week should go out this afternoon in the channel of our discord 🙂‍↔️ we hope to be back ASAP with the latest cook day dates fam 💗

P.S. if you signed up for mondays cook day you will also receive this cancellation via email this morning!

MAY 💐 DAILY SHOPPERS SIGN UP IS LIVE 🥳

You can now sign up to be a DAILY shopper 🛒 for this month and help stock your local RVA Community Fridges 🎉 with goodies you or a neighbor may see fit!

If you would like to help shop and drop 🚙 one day this month our sign up is officially LIVE in our bio! Please choose a day convenient for you to help us keep your local RVA Community Fridges, freezers, and pantries stocked with produce 🥦🥚🍓, frozen meals 🍕, pantry goods🥫, snacks 🍿, and toiletries🧴!

You can shop on the day you choose ANYTIME ⏳ or prior to as long as you stock the fridges on the day you sign up! If you cannot shop for a date you have chosen please let the team know on our discord food network or general chats so another volunteer can shop instead and we can get the fridges stocked everyday!

You will need a cashapp or Venmo for us to send you $50 💵 to buy whatever you would like to stock the fridges/pantries with. You can text us at (804) 715-5170 or email us at [email protected] to let us know when you plan on shopping to receive funds on that day, as well as send the final receipt to! If you happen to reach out to us after the timeframe 8am-6pm on your shopping day you may receive your reimbursement the following day as our volunteer team is not available 24/7 yet
