Oak Park Farmer's Market The Oak Park Farmers Market was formed in 2010 to fill a need in one of Sacramento’s food deserts. In response, the Oak Park Farmers Market was created.

Now operated by Food Literacy Center to support our goal of access because we want everyone to eat their vegetables! A community survey conducted at the time revealed that residents couldn’t easily access fresh, healthy produce. Last year, the market faced a temporary setback as its nonprofit host shifted priorities, opting to close the market. Joany Titherington, the market founder and an Oak Par

k resident, has never wavered in her commitment to retain this community service. She has tirelessly raised funding to reopen the market through a government grant. However, that funding won’t be available until 2024, leaving this year’s market unfunded. Help us save the Oak Park Farmers Market! We need to raise $180,000 to open in May. Joany has already secured half of this.

💚 40 EBT customers reached per week.

🍅 644 children received food literacy education.

🧺 32 weeks of the market.

Our market continued to turnip the joy by bringing fresh produce, delicious food, beautiful crafts, and lively entertainment to the heart of Oak Park.

Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we made a berry meaningful impact this year with some incredible results:
🥕 2,413 kids discovered their love for veggies in our afterschool programs.
🍽️ 1,542 families enjoyed creating nutritious meals together with our recipe kits.
🍎 336 students took home fresh fruit and veggies from our kids farmers markets.
🧑‍🍳 373 Leataata Floyd students attended our hands-on cooking and gardening classes.
🥦 22 field trips let students explore fresh, local produce firsthand.
🧺 40 weekly EBT customers were served through our Oak Park Farmers Market.
