Life on the homestead has been busy busy lately! The garden is doing great and I’m starting to get some reward for all the hard work! 🍅🫛🫑🥒

Also I wasn’t sure that my momma goose would actually hatch any babies herself, so I stuck a few eggs in the incubator a while back. Only one baby hatched and today I introduced her to the adults. It’s safe to say they went crazy for her. Immediately brought her to the water to drink and then my momma goose ushered her straight into the goose house. 🪿

I’ve been a little MIA lately. Life has been life-ing pretty hard the past two weeks.

But thankfully I have my little funny farm to keep me on my toes. No matter what goes on in my life they stay crazy and needing me everyday. 🤣

I’m not sure if my geese will hatch any babies of their own this year or not. Two females have decided to share a nest and it’s been a couple months now. I’m just kind of letting them do their own thing.

Also peep the noisy goose in the last pic 🙈 Big John always has to check out the new babies I bring outside. 🦆

The prettiest quail egg I’ve ever gotten. Of course it had a crack in it too. 😅 My dog enjoyed this pretty treat 😋

Have I mentioned how amazing my neighbors are?

When I was 2 1/2 hours away from the house my mischievous goat Bonnie decided she was going to pull a Houdini on us and get out of her pen.

I never expected to see her on my doorbell camera 🙈 thankfully my neighbors are great goat wranglers. 😂

This was the sweetest surprise to wake up to this morning. Some of the eggs had started to crack last night but it can take baby geese 2-3 days to come out of their shells. I never expected this little girl to already be here. She must be a little overachiever.

It has been a sad few weeks here on the homestead with losing our baby goat, and then just this week a coyote attacked and killed my favorite momma goose right in front of my door. 😭

I didn’t plan on keeping any of these babies but after losing her and knowing these babies were her eggs I might just have to keep one. ❤️

Life and death are all apart of having animals and sometimes having so many sad days can really make you question if you’re doing everything wrong. Days like today remind me of God’s promise to work all things for our good. 🪿❤️
