💬 One question I get asked often is: “What’s the difference between postpartum meals and regular home-cooked dinners?”

👉🏻This spread is actually a mix of regular dinner orders and postpartum meals 🧡

It shows that postpartum food isn’t that different from our everyday home-style meals, the key is simply adjusting ingredients and balance based on each stage of recovery.
By the mid to later stages, meals can look just like what we normally eat at home.

The same goes for soups, they’re not just for postpartum, enjoying nourishing soups once in a while can benefit your skin and overall wellness too.🧏🏻‍♀️✨

💬 常常有客人問我:「月子餐跟一般晚餐有什麼不同?」

答案👉🏻這一桌其實是平日晚餐和月子餐混在一起的組合 🤎

也可以看出月子餐和日常家常菜其實沒有太大差別,重點只是依照不同階段去調整食材與搭配。
到了中後期,其實就可以和我們平常吃的菜幾乎一樣。

Did you notice the rainbow colors in today’s meals? 🌈

Lately, I’ve been busy preparing recovery meals for two clients who are in their healing phase. During this time, instead of heavy tonics, it’s more important to focus on gentle, easy-to-digest nourishment so the body can recover gradually.

Different colored vegetables provide different nutrients, so the more variety you get, the more balanced your nutrition will be.

最近的小廚房如常忙著準備一份一份的月子餐。
也想藉這個機會特別謝謝媽媽們的體諒與配合。

因為我是一人廚房,一雙手能接的訂單其實很有限。最近剛好有兩位媽媽來訂月子餐,但因為已有其他預約,實在沒有辦法騰出整整一個月的空檔。沒想到她們都很體貼地配合我的時間,改成訂兩週的月子餐,真的非常感謝大家的理解與支持🥹🙏🏻

同時也有一些長期訂購晚餐的客人,我也會盡量騰出幾天時間,希望可以幫忙 忙碌的媽媽們準備簡單的家常晚餐。

Lately the little kitchen has been busy preparing postpartum meals as usual.

Since this is a one-person kitchen, there are only so many orders I can take at a time. Recently two moms reached out hoping to book a full month, because I already had other reservations, I wasn’t able to open up a full month. They were both so kind and flexible, and adjusted to two weeks instead. I’m truly grateful for the understanding and support 🥹🙏🏻

Whenever possible, I also try to set aside a few days to cook simple home meals for busy moms and families.

第三、四週開始,媽媽身體慢慢穩定,腸胃同元氣都回到軌道,甜湯就可以由「清淡好吸收」慢慢過渡到「補氣血、回復體力」嘅方向。

每位媽媽嘅體質、順產/開刀、同埋當刻狀態都唔同,所以甜湯都會以「食得舒服」做第一優先,必要時我都會按情況微調份量同頻率。

【Postpartum Meals · Sweet Soups Series (Part 2)】

Starting in weeks 3 and 4 postpartum, the body becomes more stable and digestion continues to improve. At this stage, sweet soups can gently transition from light and easy-to-digest options to more nourishing desserts that help replenish blood and restore energy.

產後初期,甜湯以好吸收、不刺激為主。

Many expecting moms are often curious about the variety and portion sizes, so after today’s delivery, I wanted to share this with you 🤍

Besides Hong Kong–style dishes, I also thoughtfully incorporate some Japanese or Korean elements into the menu.
Today’s dishes include Japanese-style teriyaki chicken and Japanese ginger pork (Shogayaki).

Japanese cuisine is naturally healthy, focusing on light flavors and balanced nutrition. It’s especially suitable for postpartum moms, gentle on the body while supporting gradual recovery and strength.

Congratulations to this lovely mama for completing her four-week postpartum meal plan.
For her graduation meal today, I prepared Galbi jjim (Korean-style braised beef short ribs). She told me that her favorites were the soy-braised chicken legs and steamed pork ribs I made for her. Since she doesn’t usually cook fish soup at home, I also prepared more fish soups for her in the last two week to make her recovery even more nourishing and enjoyable.

I’m truly grateful for her kindness, politeness, and the way she openly shared her thoughts with me. Within my ability, I did my best to fulfill every request she had.💖

恭喜這位可愛的媽媽順利完成四週的月子餐。
今天特別煮了韓式燉牛肋肉作為畢業餐點。她跟我分享說自己最喜歡豉油雞腿和蒸排骨,平時比較少自己煮魚湯,所以最後兩週我也多準備魚湯給她,以及他喜歡的菜式,讓她在恢復期吃得更開心。

也很感謝這位媽媽,既有禮貌又願意分享她的想法。我也在自己能力範圍內,把她的每一個需求都盡量幫她實現。

🌿 關於用餐容器與環保的小提醒

如果妳想用自己的器皿,只要提前告訴我,我會提供每天餐點所需的容器大小。
媽媽不需要一次準備到一整週的量,像這位媽媽就是先準備了兩天的湯品、部分主食,以及早餐/甜品的容器,再依照自己的步調慢慢增加。每次我送餐時,她都會把下一次需要用到的容器交給我。

為了讓流程更順利,我有幾點小建議想分享:
📌 請確保餐盒「已清潔且完全乾燥」,再放進未裝食物的乾淨食物袋內交給我。

📌 食物袋的容量最好剛好能放下所有容器,並且有拉鍊或安全扣,外側最好有提把,方便拿取。

📌 建議選用「防漏且耐熱」的餐盒,這樣我在裝湯品、糖水或醬汁類時會更加安全。

如果妳也想以更環保的方式享用餐點,歡迎隨時私訊我,我會很樂意一起安排最適合妳的方式。

🌿 Meal Containers and Eco Friendly Options

If you’d like to reduce single use items, you are more than welcome to use your own containers and I’ll be happy to pack the meals for you.

If you prefer using your own containers, just let me know in advance and I will share the container sizes needed for each day’s menu.
You also don’t need to prepare a full week’s worth at once. For example, this mom started with containers for two days of soups, some mains, and her breakfast or dessert, and slowly added more at her own pace. Each time I delivered her meals, she simply handed me the containers needed for the next delivery.

To help the process run smoothly, here are a few suggestions:
📌 Please make sure all containers are 《clean and completely dry》 before placing them into a clean insulated bag.

📌 Please place the containers inside a clean insulated bag that fits everything, has a zipper or secure closure, and ideally has a handle for easy carrying.

📌 I recommend using 《leak proof and heat resistant》 containers. This keeps soups, sweet soups, and dishes with sauces much safer during packing and transport.
