Meet the variety: Bloomquist Alan 💐

If you’re looking for robust, 4.5–5.5 ft tall, bushy plants, this variety is a prolific bloomer with long, sturdy stems, making it an excellent, reliable cut flower, this is THE one. We grew this variety for the first time last year and it absolutely knocked our socks off.

Fun fact we learned: Bloomquist Alan tends to show more yellow in warmer temperatures and deeper pink/peach in cooler weather.

This past weekend reminded us why we love this community so much. 💛 As a family, we attended a Dahlia conference in Monterey that was equal parts inspiring, educational, and just plain fun.

Jason received his certificate for becoming a Candidate Judge and one of the aprakers we heard from (and met) Emily from Idlewild Blooms 🤩

Seeing a bunch of friends from the Central Coast Dahlia Society, making new friends, & walking away with a head full of fresh ideas — it doesn’t get much better than that. So thankful for this beautiful passion that brings such beautiful people together 🌸

We’re sitting here absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude. 💚

When we started this journey, we honestly didn’t know if anyone would care about the dahlias we were growing in our little corner of the world. But you showed up (and are still showing up). You supported us. You believed in what we’re building here at Mayr Family Farm, and that means more than we can put into words.

This was our very first tuber sale, and seeing your excitement, reading your messages, and knowing these flowers will bloom in YOUR gardens - it’s beyond anything we imagined. Every single order represents someone who took a chance on our small family farm, and we don’t take that lightly.

To everyone who ordered, shared our posts, cheered us on, or simply followed along - thank you. Truly. You’re not just customers, you’re part of our farm family now. We can’t wait to see what you grow, hear about your first blooms, and watch this community blossom (pun absolutely intended).
