Our last event was in August, just before the dahlias showed up for the season. It’s my first year growing them from tubers, and I’m so happy I did! While things have calmed down on here and out in the garden, the school year’s in full swing, sports, and other chores, we’re back in our regular routine… but every night pulling into the drive way, I’m greeted by the beauty of what I planted months ago. They didn’t make it in time for the bouquets, but they were right on time for when I needed them most. I love the sunshine, warm days, lush greens and bright blooms of summer. While the ‘ber months have special moments, winter is tough to get through. I’ll be cooped up inside dreaming of next year!
While not every thing I planned happened, the things that did, turned out better than I ever could have imagined!! It was SO much fun! A HUGE thank you to friends and family that helped make it special, and I can’t wait to do it again! 🩷

My favorite part of the Build-Your-Own Bouquet Flower Bar, is to see what you all put together. 💐

When I build bouquets, I almost always go for warmer tones; salmons, peach, pinks, orange and yellows. This bouquet reminded me of a meadow. Has me dreaming up ideas for next year!

The leaves on the giant Tulip Poplar are begining to blanket the grass and the air was cool this morning, hints that fall is coming. The dahlias will catch a break, and should be the last to go this season. Years past it was well past Halloween and took a few frost for them to go. There’s a few volunteers that have continued to pop up between other varieties, along with tomatoes I suppose the birds planted, and celosia I’ve let run wild. 🌱🌱

Our biggest night so far, nearly selling out! And I couldn’t do it without these two! Thank you both SO much for all your help. My favorite part is getting to hang with you, the flowers are just a bonus! ☺️
