I think that’s gonna be it for pulling honey this year. Pretty happy with how much we got!
I was sure to leave beyond enough honey for all the bees to survive this years winter, as well as added oxalic mite treatments.
My interference in the hives for the rest of the year will be feeding those who need it and then wintering all of them in a little while.
2026 was an excellent season for honey production and some queen production! I think many others would agree with me as well.
Hopefully 2027 is as good as it was this year!

I made a valiant attempt today to feed the bees, within about 10 minutes they decided they REALLY hated my right leg and i decided i probably should let them sort out their issues for a little while. Got a few fed though.

Update on the swarm.
They’re building fast as I expected, already took several gallons of syrup.
Will probably move them to a bigger box over the weekend.

Wax cappings from the harvest contain a lot of honey! I always make sure I let them drip for a while.

Some of these hives just won’t stop. This years nectar flow has been wild for me! Hopefully fall nectar is good to us as well and makes this winter a breeze for our bees.

This is the underside of the lid for one of the nucs I made this summer. Filling up their 3rd deep now.

Starting feed on my colonies I’m not harvesting from this year. And condensing some smaller hives.

As luck would have it, was about time to leave work for the day and a swarm showed up by one of our machines, boxed up, safely relocated and no stings for myself or any coworkers!
Keeping them fed and packed tight into a nuc box, hoping they build fast for winter.
