🐝🍯We hope to see you buzzing around for this special tasting event 🐝🍯

Fall means that the local producers are coming inside for a bit, and that's great news for Pierce Creek customers. We are excited to announce a local honey tasting with Jiwe na Nyuki on Saturday, October 17th from 11 AM to 2 PM. Come try this delicious local honey that is made in Maryland Heights. Our bakers will be making some tasty treats to try, too.

Jiwe na Nyuki is an independent local business based in Maryland Heights, Missouri, run by beekeeper Peter Kilpatrick and his wife, Debra.

Peter started beekeeping in 2020 simply because it was something he had always wanted to try. Once he got into the hives, he genuinely enjoyed the work and was blown away by the difference in taste between store-bought honey and fresh, raw honey straight from the comb. What started as personal curiosity quickly grew into a dedication to keeping more hives and producing quality local honey for the community. Alongside the apiary, Debra contributes to Jiwe na Nyuki with her own line of handmade sewn goods and handcrafted items.

All Jiwe na Nyuki honey is harvested in small batches right in Maryland Heights. It is 100% raw, unheated, and unpasteurized, keeping all the natural pollen and distinct seasonal floral flavors of our local area intact.

Pronunciation: jee-way nah nyoo-kee
• Jiwe (jee-way): Sounds like jee + way (rhymes with "relay"). Swahili for "Stone."
• na (nah): Rhymes with "spa." Swahili for "and."
• Nyuki (nyoo-kee): Sounds like new-kee (the "ny" sounds like the ny in "canyon"). Swahili for "Bee."
