Yesterday we hosted our very first Front Porch event.
Like so many things I've planned over the years, the day didn't look exactly like the vision I had in my head. But maybe that's the beauty of actually chasing a dream—you learn that perfection was never the goal.
Maybe it's entering my 30s this year. Maybe it's getting tired of hearing, "You'd be so good at that," and finally deciding to see for myself.
I think so many women can relate when I say life changes after becoming a wife and a mom. Beautiful changes. The best changes. But somewhere along the way, your identity shifts. Your priorities change. You change.
The last several years have been a roller coaster for me. Without sharing every detail, I knew I needed something that was just mine. Something that not only filled my own cup, but created a place where others could feel seen, supported, and encouraged too.
I didn't take a single picture yesterday. Honestly, I barely knew where my phone was. But I did snap this one earlier in the week while finishing the last of the vendor barcodes.
Most people probably wouldn't think twice about them, but I do.
These tiny details make me so happy because I know the hours behind them. I know the late nights, the missed moments, the lists, the trial and error, and the heart that went into every single piece. And I'm proud of that.
Even if this whole thing ended tomorrow, I'd still walk away grateful because of everything it taught me. I truly believe God uses every season to prepare us for what's next, and I trust He's writing a bigger story than I can see right now.
This past week was exhausting. More than anything, I wanted this to be successful for every person who believed in me. I've always been someone who loves cheering other people on. Their dream may not be the one I would've chosen, but if God placed it on their heart, then it's worth pursuing.
Yesterday filled me in a way I didn't expect.
It was hot. The wind blew racks over. A few last-minute details didn't get finished.
And none of it mattered.
Meeting new people in our community, hearing their stories, feeling their encouragement, watching vendors and customers already excited for the next event... my cup wasn't just filled—it was overflowing.
To every vendor, customer, follower, friend, and family member who took a chance on this little dream of ours, thank you. Your support means more than you'll ever know, and I pray The Front Porch continues to grow into something that blesses this community.
Here's to realizing you can be a mom and still chase the dreams God placed on your heart.
Our children are watching. They're watching us work hard, overcome setbacks, show up when we're tired, and believe in something bigger than ourselves.
That's a lesson worth teaching.
Because hard work was never meant to be easy... and maybe "what if?" doesn't have to be a question we live with forever.
With so much love and gratitude,
Sierra 🤍
Just the right amount of too much.
